I have a non stick pan which i bought almost 1.5 yrs back but now its not doing the job, although the coating is still on it but it has no shine. I use the pan carefully and only use wooden spoons to cook in it and wash it with soft foam. Why my pan got damage so early? Or is their any life for these pans?

What brand of pan is it? I have T-Fal pans that have lasted for years, when it comes to non-stick they are among the best. Also you say the coating is still on it but it has no shine. If you know the coating is still there and it's actually working, it doesn't matter that it doesn't shine anymore. It sounds like you treated it right, using only wooden spoons and not scouring pads for cleaning, so it's probably still okay. The key is, does stuff stick to it? If not, then it's fine.

im not sure if theres life span on it. all i know is that there are some non stick pan who are not really worth it. some are done in a very cheap materials. next time you buy, try to buy non stick pan that is heavy and thick. i think thats the best non stick pan to buy. i also use it, i bought spoons that is made for non stick pan too. the one that is black colored spoon. you can ask the store about it. your right use a very soft for scrubbing or cleaning the non stick pan. they are really sensitive.

There are things most people forget, so please don't be insulted if I go over things you've already done. Teflon shouldn't go in a dishwasher. the combination of hot water, the chemicals, and drying heat stiffens the stuff, and it loses its no-stick capabilities. It has to be seasoned at least every 10th time you use it. Instead of trying to keep up with all that, I season it every time I wash it. If yu've done those things and it hasn't worked, I guess it's time to hit the web for research! Good luck!

hmm strange, I have had no stick pans for years now and they are fine. Maybe you just have bad luck with yours. like the previous writer said: by a tefal. they are great quality. A bit more expensive but they last for years.
