My neighbors have a pitbull mix dog....they never feed or water it...it's never on a chain or in their house...it just runs around the neighborhood...pooping in other's yards. I can't even let my dog out without it eating my dog's food. I don't mind but I feel that the owner needs to be responsible for it. We complained and the owners spray painted F*** Off on the dog and sent it to our yard. We got the message loud and clear. I have tried calling animal control and the humane society. They are full and overwhelmed right now. They are no help. What should I do?

Photographygirl gave the best response...call the Humane Society...
And just so you know...just the act of spray painting the doggie is a violation not to mention a cruelty against the animal.
Do it, do it now...call, call, call and if that doesn't help call your local County offices and explain the problem...if that doesn't work be like me...don't stop there...call or e-mail your local newspaper and tell your story...AND if that doesn't work call your local Freeholders office...believe me that'll do it!!

The animal control and/humane society isn't doing anything....the animal control had temporarily closed down....the whole system here is a mess....no one is doing anything at all!

If you don't want to call, start your letter now...
If you don't know the address or names of your elected officials then do this:
To Whom It Should Concern:
Yada yada yada...you fill in the story.
Address the envelope:
To: Elected Officials, County of ________________
Your City, Your State 0000
(believe me it'll get there, but you need the County)
Be certain to be real explicit about the situation, note that you have called Animal Control and Humane Society. At the very end state that action needs to be taken immediately.
Next step: Your local Newspaper as a Human Interest Story.
You also should check out PETA.org on the net...they are very pro animals.
Try it, what can you loose? A stamp? Not too much of a loss if it'll give you and your family peace of mind.
Good Luck

You could adopt the dog if you care enough for it. Maybe it's not well fed that's why it's roaming around the neighborhood.

Call the Humane Society or report this to animal control in your area. This animal has feelings, too, and should NOT have to live this way. INSIST they get out there and tell them they are placing paint now with threats to you on this dog..which is a toxin to the dog!
Tell them that if they do not act, you will file complaint against THEM, as they will not help! That will get them in gear.
