World Series Anytime Soon?

I know it seems upsetting but the question I have is will this team a World Series sometime soon? It seems that year after year of failure it does weigh and make you wonder. They have the longest drought of any AL team to win it all. It's been 60 years and could be counting higher. Rebuild mode has been going this past decade and has only seen one playoff appearance and that was last season. I was hoping this year would be it because I think that it was their best chance. Maybe it was last year after all. Injuries have hurt this team but there's so much more than that. Players underacheiving this season and the bullpen imploded big time. I can't believe it went that bad and it's just stunning. I just hope it won't be many more years of waiting. Failure at this point can never be an option. To get to the playoffs is one thing, to get to the World Series is another, and winning it all should be the ultimate goal. I hope that this off-season will see some serious work done to improve this team. I don't know if I'm the only one but I don't feel like several years before they become contenders again. I believe that Eric Wedge will be under critical pressure for some reason in 2009. I'm not sure how long he's with them, it's either that year or the next for sure. I can't imagine it being too much longer if things don't improve. I'd like it to happen next year but I'm not so sure. Anyone want to take a guess on when it will happen?

It's sad to think that. I hate to say this but as long as the Dolans have command, I don't see it happening. If they end up winning it, I'll actually leave them alone and not get on their case about being cheap. I've been very critical of them honestly for a few years. The only thing that's keeping them from really looking ugly this season has been Cliff Lee. He's got 19 wins won and could win as many as 24. I know it's asking too much but can't they go for the championship and try to win it all?

The Indians are always known for their farm system. Cleveland has a few holes in their lineup, but it is still dangerous. I think they filled most of there weak spots from the past few years, which was their bullpen. Kerry Wood should help! I give Cleveland 3 years. I think they will win their division this year but loose to the American League east in the divisional playoffs.

Being a Chicago Cubs fan, I know exactly how you feel. Maybe even worse. Well, Chicago made it to the playoffs last year (2008) and a few other years in the past. But they haven't won the World Series since 1908. I feel like they are the laughing stock of the nation when it comes to baseball. Last fall, during the playoffs, they even had a talk show on the radio that was specifically having people call in to make fun of the Cubs and Cubs fans. I don't care who you cheer for, this type of talk show just seems to be uncalled for. I really thought that the Cleveland Indians would do well this year with Kerry Wood. It seems like every time someone leaves the Cubs, they end up playing for another team that does really well. Look at Greg Maddux. He left the Cubs and went to Atlanta and they were great for a number of years while he was there. Good luck to Cleveland in 2010!
