It Is Time For America To Have An Articulate President.

Remember how the left has dogged George W. Bush for his less than mastering of the English language? Remember how the left has demanded that we have a President that does not embarrass us in front of the world? Well folk I actually agree with the left on this one, and no cards up my sleeve, we need a candidate that does not mutilate the English language. Today I was listening to two different candidate for President, one candidate should be sent back to grammar school, while the other did a stand up job delivering his message. Who is the candidate that deserve to be sent back to grammar school, Obama. Who delivered his message without saying uh every other word, McCain. So yes America finally has a Presidential candidate that we can all agree knows how to speak, and that is McCain.

God yes! It is definitely time for Bush to move on and thankfully only two terms maximum may be served a President. I am not American and have a limited overall understanding of McCAin versus Obama so can't really comment on who would be better; but any change from Bush has got to be a positive step forward! As an outsider, my opinion is that Bush was re-elected because there was really no adequate alternative choice. As the saying goes - Change is as good as a holiday! It will be of considerable benefit to have a fresh perspective.

Both as a cadet at the Naval Accademy and as a Naval Officer, MccCain had to get up in front of people to speak and give orders. It is just a standard part of that job. Additionally, when addressing sailors, no teleprompters are allowed. McCain has years of experience doing this. Just one more reason to vote for McCain. He has the experience and confidence from his Military service and training that Obama will never obtain.

Great point RYBD, McCain has not only the experience to lead a country, but the experience to speak.

I am not a big fan of McCain's public speaking, he comes off pretty boring, and about as exciting as watching CSPAN. I was watching one of his town hall meetings yesterday, and noticed McCain couldn't take his eyes off of his teleprompter. I think the difference between his Naval days, and the current campaign is what he is saying. John McCain has flip flopped so many times on taxes, immigration, and energy that I can't keep up with his current policies, and I am 40 years younger. With that being said, I still think that McCain, or Obama will be a vast improvement over Bush.

Hello Gewcew, I couldn't agree more! "Uh" or "Um" is a lazy man's way of controlling his own thoughts. I have many sub-areas of interest, personal, academic, and professnional. However, the science and art of communication is my professional area of expertise. As such, I will share that the terribly poor habit of "Uh" or "Um" is the point of focus of even the most novice of communicators!!! Which of course tells me that in addition to the light-weight resume, the whole prospect of "a truly great communicator" is none other than a marketing ploy. Let us consider "The Great Communicator", Pres. Ronald Reagan. Pres. Reagan wrote all of his own speeches until after his first Presidential election. Even then, begrudeonly, he gave no speech that he didn't at least edit, if not re-write. Of course, by the time his second term arrived, he was beginning to feel the effects of Alzheimer's. Yet, the system of his personal editing of his speeches did wonders to cover the effects of his disease. Meaning that if we demand that our national leader be able to both write and speak his ideas (without telepromters and speechwriters, then we will have a MUCH greater assurance that our leaders are, in fact, articulate! http://www.ibiblio.org/sullivan/CNN/RWR/album/speechmats/Communicator.html

Well, uh ... hi there, uh ... Lady Luna. Uh - did he say that there's a bathroom on the right? Or um, did he say that there's a bad moon on the rise? (Oopsie - did I start a song annoyingly playing in your head?) Yeah - seriously - I wonder how Obama Sin Laden would sound on his own ...

Thank you, for a moment there I thought slick smooth talking Obama had you, he looks good and speak fairly well, and that is what he is running on. McCain is who I will vote for in hopes that he has been around long enough and being a POW he knows what it takes to keep us safe.

First, how DARE anyone call Obama articulate! Thats racist, remember? Anyone? Or has the left conveniently forgotten that one? There is a difference that needs to be pointed out. One can be an inspiring speaker and bring a crowd to their feet with out ever communicating a single concrete thought. And one can communicate very well an idea or thought with out ever bringing a single inspiring applause or cheer. Obama is an amazing script reader and at times, speaker. He can move a audience or transfer an emotion very well. We call people who can do this, ACTORS. When one is communicating, and is in fact a great communicator, it has nothing to do with any of that. It is how much of what they are thinking comes out in solid words and is recieved in solid form by the recipient. Passionately hollaring "Change!" and having a crowd give a standing ovation, is NOT great communication.

I heard Obama and =he is not that good. In fact, I conveniently change the channel. I have not heard McCain much but that is because the media except for Fox news, believes that America is like a communist country where there is only one candidate for office. But the few times I heard McCain, he was very good and knew how to speak properly. So I hope he gets in.

Obama seems to like to quote from McCain a great deal and mocks him over every little word. I think it's just the fact that McCain doesn't have that ability Obama has to turn out a poetic phrase when what he's really saying is nothing but bull. McCain's strength is when he addresses American's and their questions he's not big on speaches, Obama needs time to think about his answers and that is why he goes Um all the time when he's asked a question and I think he's starting to lose some confidence.
