what was the funniest movie you ever seen?

I also like funny comedy movies very much. In fact, any movie with a good element of laughter in it is always the most favorite of me. I always watch movies to relax and unwind and funny movies are the best for reducing your tension and getting relaxed. My favorite laughter movies are Dumb and dumber, and the great lampoon series, about which you have already mentioned. However, I'm always inclined to watch any funny movie or TV show or cartoon show, whatever it is.

I like (Dumb and dumber) for Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, it was so funny I laugh ever I saw it times.

The National Lampoon movies were by far the funniest ever made. Dumb and Dumber, Silent Bob and Jay all deserve mentions too. I've been pretty disgusted with the recent movies that have came out in the past 2 years or so (comedies) because almost none of them are funny to me. Probably the best movie in the past 2 years was Talladega Nights, but even that wasn't OVERLY funny.

I have been asked this recently, and my answer has not changed. It has to be "The Birdcage" with Robin Williams, Nathan Lane, Hank Azaria, and Gene Hackman. It just came on again recently, and I was so glad that I caught it as usual. I laughed outloud as much as I did the first time that I saw it; and I've seen it at least 7 times. I am scared to buy the DVD, I know that I would just watch it over and over, forsaking all others and all other things. (smile) The concept is so different (even tho I know it is based on the french named play that escapes me at the moment), but it is more original than most movies that I have seen. It is laugh out loud funny. Everyone works together like a well oiled machine. Robin Williams is so funny playing a more laid-back part than usual. I guess you would have to let Natan Lane run away with that part. He is hilarious! Hank Azaria is so shocking in his part. And Gene Hackman strangely so, fits right in with the hilarity. I did'nt know that he could be so funny. SPOILER ALERT: Especially dressed in drag!!

the only funny ones that come to mind atm are Just Friends, Harold and Kumar. Not much else comes to mind. Haven't seen a really good comedy movie and some time now.

anything with chris farley is just hilarious, i mean if you are involved in second city, or snl then your the man!..or woman! hell yea thats my dream one day is to be in a classic funny movie like black sheep or happy gilmore

Most of the really funny movies have already been mentioned here. One other movie deserves mention here I think - The Pink Panther. It is seriously one of the most hilarious movies I have ever seen...
