who here keep horses in their backyard?

lol if youre going to use a horse to your workplace where will you park it? :) is there a stable at your workplace? teehee..

I had my six horses on my property when I lived in MN. Had to give them up when I divorced and moved.
I took one of them with me to NC, then ended up basically giving him to the woman that was caring for him for me.
No horses for me here in Ohio. Still miss my buckskin.

did you give him for free? so how much did you pay for those horses and what the cheapest there is to buy? its not that want to buy one but just out of curiosity :)

She sold him for me but the money was used to pay the vet bill, farrier, and cost of her keeping him for me in the first place.
The purchase price of the horse isn't an issue, it's the upkeep. Even if you get a horse free, when you factor in vet, farrier, grain, hay, and all the things necessary to keep them, it is quite expensive.

We have a Paint and a mini in our backyard. It's about a half acre though, fenced in for them. We are looking to sell our paint though and get an older horse for our daughter. She is just learning to ride, and the 2 year old isn't making it wasy for her. We would love to keep her, but my daughter needs one that has already been neck reigned (sp?)and we don't have enough room to haev another one.
Belle is just to fiesty for her. Whatever we end up doing, she will have to go to a GREAT home, and be replaced by another Paint. My 9 year old insists that if Belle leaves, it has top be another Paint.
