Tomorrow I am going to a lake about 60 miles from here to spend the weekend with my family....my brother and sisters....my nephews and nieces...and all the great nephews and nieces. We have a card tournament that goes on all day tomorrow until midnight and there are cash prizes awarded! Also each person brings a gift so no one goes without winning something! There is swimming, and boating. There are lawn games and a party barge that pulls a torpedo! It's a wonderful way to spend the weekend. This year I am bringing my three year old granddaughter. She hasn't been to the weekend since she was two months old! There is no real activities planned for the little ones so this year I planned a tournament for them. We'll play games that will include the parents or grandparents. Late Sunday morning we take a family picture with all of us in matching tee shirts! Then the prizes are handed out and everyone heads home! So what is your plan for this weekend..are you going to be with family? How about a picnic? Fill us in on all your plans!

Hello jillhill.
Your weekend sounds like it must have been a real blast! That is so cool that you get together with all your siblings and their kids. I love the card thing, too, that's always a good time. Who doesn't love a gift? Or cash? Watersports, too? Wow, it sounds like you guys really have this get-together thing all figured out.
What a cute idea to have a tournament especially for the little ones. I bet that went over very well. Is one person responsible for ordering all the matching tee shirts? I'm sure we will hear all about the weekend and I can't wait!
My husband had to work on Fri. and Sat. in Palm Beach so we drove over there on Friday morning. I shopped and explored while he worked! And gosh, there are some very cool places to shop in Palm Beach! We found an excellent Indian restaurant for dinner on Friday night. What a feast that was! Anyhoo, we had a very pleasant drive back on Sunday morning and got home at 10 a.m. I had a pretty quiet Sunday.
Take care, jillhill. I wanna know what your gift was and whether you won any cash.

I didn't win a cash prize because I was side tracked with my games by my little granddaughter who by the way was one very good little girl! I did win a board game and movie. We have a committee that does the shirts...next year we are getting a special one for the 15th year anniversary of our weekend. The kids loved the games and since the bag included some little toys...they had the opportunity to play with them on Sat and sunday. My brother and his wife are always the host and hostess and do an aweful lot of work to make the weekend wonderful...My granddaughter got her first ride on a jet ski too.....and three boat rides as she fell asleep on the first one and I didn't want to wake her up so we just kept riding! Anyway it was a wonderful weekend. Sounds like you have a great weekend too! Did you find anything unusual while shopping?

I think a board game and a movie is a really fun gift! And yes, it sounds like an awfully lot of planning and work goes in to your reunions. They sound really fun.
In Palm Beach, there was a "Fresh Produce" store, which has brightly colored casual clothing. I bought a short, white sweatshirt-material skirt, a lime green sleevless top with fish shapes on it, and a lime green oxford cotton shirt to wear over it. It's a really cute, fun outfit.
Then, I bought a sleeveless, black and white top that is sort of baggy and gathered around the bottom. It can be worn with slacks or a skirt and it's a little bit dressy, like for work.
I bought a pair of dark brown bermuda shorts that are really comfy and a light beige t-shirt to wear with them. The t-shirt has the shape of a sea shell in polka dots in the middle of the chest area. It's really cute.
For me, that's quite a bit of shopping.

Well I hope that you have a great weekend, today is my sons 8th birthday we were supposed to be going to a theme park for the day but we got up this morning and it was pouring down with rain.
It rained pretty much all day so we could not go, hopefully though we will be able to go tomorrow as the weather is promising to be better. I hope so!!

Well the good news was that the weather was beautiful for us today and we got our day out!! It was great fun, my two year old daughter was not happy though as she wanted to go on all the big rollercoasters and could not because she was too little LOL.
We did manage to get her on a water ride, a haunted house ride and a pirate ship ride though. It helped because she is tall for her age!! She absolutely loved it and was not the least bit daunted by anything!!

hi jill! that sounds a lot of fun! is that already a family reunion? because it sounds just like it to me. i'm kinda envious that you hold something like that. we rarely do that. ^__^;;
well, for me, my weekend will be just the same as my ordinary weekends. rest and rest and rest. it had been a tiring week for me. lots of work and i nearly got sick, i mean i got sick at work but not really that sick, i was still able to work. although last Wednesday, i did get off early in the afternoon because of my allergies. so now, i'm just going to take a rest, surf the net, watch some tv. i'll probably go out once to buy somethings and to have some of my pictures developed.
have fun with your family jill!

Hello dear jillhill. It is a very exciting and happy weekend that you have arranged. I am sure that you will enjoy it a lot together with your family. But to me, as I am already having my summer vacation, and so is the same with my son. I stay with my family every day and life is casual for me because of my rest at home.

We pay money to perpare the lunch and this way they earn money and we enjoy a new taste.. enjoy your weekend

Same back to you. We have some nice weather. So we are doing a little shopping, a little yard work. Maybe getting some chores done around the house. And having a little family quality time before my daughter starts kindergarten on Monday.

Wow, that's great! Like a family reunion and party. You have it all well planned. I wish I could also plan something like this with my family. Perhaps on December 25, we would be able to hold one too. Thanks for the pointers about the activities that could be done. Happy MyLotting.

Wow, have a great time with your family. Sounds like fun.
This weekend we are doing a bunch of nothing..lol Our oldest is busy with her boyfriend's kids, our middle daughter is in Arkansas for her husband's family reunion and our youngest lives in Arizona. My husband has softball tryouts Sun. so he will be gone a good part of the day. I was schedule to work Sun. but another employee wanted the hours so he's working and I have a Sunday off. I might take myself to the casino and play awhile just to keep from being bored.
Be safe and have a great time,
carolbee

What card game do ya'll play? It sounds like a lot of fun. My weekend will be bitter sweet. My daughter will be coming down tomorrow which is GREAT only problem is that she is coming since it is time for my grandson to go back home so he can start getting ready for school to start back up on the 25th. His birthday is the 16th and he will get a couple of his friends and my daughter will take them to a huge arcade place that has games, bowling, paintball..all sorts of things to do there. So, the good part is she is coming and the sad part is they will be leaving on Tues. or Wed. to go back home. Right now not sure if we will see them again until Oct. or Nov. I hope you have a great weekend and that your weather will co-operate. Have a safe trip.

It's called Shanghai rummy....I know a friend of mine calls it by another name...whoever has the lowest combined score wins...you can buy card etc...it's really fun! We have been doing this for many years! It will be bittersweet for you! I love it when my family comes to visit and hate it when they have to leave! Just try to enjoy best you can! I know how you feel!
