I am starting this discusion not for sympathy , just wondering
if i could meet anyone here who might have shared the same experience
as me . My brother who i loved very much was killed by a drunk driver.
It has been a trying time for all of us , and i hard thing to overcome.
I was just woundering if anyone on here has lost a loved one this way
or even a friend or relative , It would be nice to share with someone
who knows my pain , and can understand my grief. If there is no one
feel free to respond , It's nice to hear others thoughts.

Hi Michelle,
I have not lost a loved one this way but know many friends who have. Oh boy, I am not even sure what to say.. I am hoping not to offend anyone. When you lose someone in a situation like this.. it blows your mind.. you had no warning, you did not expect it, you were unprepared, unlike a fatal illness, that you were preparing for ( I can say that I have been there).
You must be very angry at this, you have every right to be, and I do not by any mean try to make you more upset, but ya know what.. it is senseless! Because someone else wanted to party, your family has to suffer and your brother had to pay.
My son lost his very, very best friend due to a drunk driver, this was 5 years ago... we still talk about it.
My best advise is to do exactly what you are doing, reach out, discuss it, cry, yell and scream.. get it out, you need that!
Take care, and get it out! Ok?

I haven't lost someone as you have, but ironically enough, I'm reading a book about that very thing. It is a book of fiction written by my favorite Christian author and she spent a lot of time with families that have lost someone.
I cannot begin to know what you and your family are going through, but you have my sympathies and prayers for peace in your loss.

It is written by Karen Kingsbury and the title is "Waiting for Morning".
She has a special message about God's love in all of her books. I'll bet I've read 20 of her books by now.
God bless ...

yes comunity service for a year , i will also share something
that will shock the crap out of you , like it did us.
these two kids , had two friends following behind them in another
car , they wittnesed them gitting pulled over by a state trooper
15 minutes before the accident happend , and this trooper gave
them a warning for speeding , and let them go. we tryed to go after
the state trooper who let them go , he could have prevented everything.
But of course they did a big cover up , and the kids who where behind them
could not remember the number on the squade car. And this kid was way
over the alchol limit , way over , and this cop let them go. the passenger
that was with the driver testified for us , and appoligized to us , about
his mistake , It didn't make the pain less to hear him say that , but
we in no way blame him . he was not driving, he was not even drunk , he
was just with a friend , that in now way should have drove, We did tell
him he should have at least drove , or not allowed his friend to drive because
of his condtion. He told us how the kid would never allow anyone to drive his
truck, and he pleaded with him , but he would not allow it. And everyone
was leaving. and he would be stuck there if he did not go.
But community services for this kid was very unjust and his parrents
where very ignorant, makeing several comments towards are family.
which we heard several diffrent times. wow , i have gone on forever here.
but when they read the verdict of community service , we had to hold my
other brother back and calm him down. He was very upset , as we all where,
but he was ready to kill , thats how upset he was. thanks for listining
man i could share so much more , but i have really made this long.
I could also share about my daughter , who i was pregnant with was born
the same day , or how he was 2 months from being married, or how
he was to close on his new house that night. But if your intreasted i
will keep going.

hi, i feel very sorry for u man, i know how it feels to lose a loved one because i have too lost a loved one. infact it was my grandpa, he was driving carefully and coming back from his army shift in india. he was drving a scooter. when suddently a drunk driver in a jeep came and they crashed head on head. the idiot with the jeep was saved but my grandpa fell of the scooter and got hit on his head. when i was little i use to cry in my bed all night. but now i know that it was a accident. the jeep driver was arrested by the way. i hope u are controlling urself and enjoy the rest of ur life. i really understand ur pain and feelings.
