AVON a good business?

I have a friend that does AVON in her spare time, she seems to bring in a good amount of money, but I'm still not sure. I would love to have a little side job that pays for gas, milk, and such. I know it costs $10.00 to start up and I really don't feel like you should spend money to make money. But I am open to all opinions. Have any of you tried AVON or are you doing it right now? Is it actually a good business to get involved with? Or is it a waste of time to even consider? Are there any good work at home type of side jobs that are proven to be good and do pay? Let me know how you feel and even give me some pointers.

I sold Avon years ago. I did very well and even got a few awards for top sales. I had a lot of friends at work who ordered. I always gave discounts or offered specials. The thing is to have a large base to start out. If you know a lot of women and can make a good offer you can get going. At least that's how it worked for me. I stopped because hubby and I started a business that took up so much time I couldn't service my Avon customers anymore. I referred them to a friend who continued to do well for some years. Hopes this helps.

I've been selling Avon for about a year now, and I love it! If you actually get out there and sell, it does make you a pretty good amount of money. I haven't been making much lately because we've been moving into a new place, so I haven't been pushing as much as usual, but now that we are settled, I'm going to pick it back up. If you do decide to start selling, I advise you to take full advantage of the Ecommunity, and the eStore option! The eStore enables you to set up a website and sell products online. They are direct delivered to the customer, and the money is applied to your Avon account. You never even have to do anything, lol.

I LOVE selling avon. It gets me out there meeting new people and helping alot of people who cant get out and buy their beauty products. It low cost with a very good pay off. It helps me buy my sons milk and diapers. Really you don't have to put alot of time in it just make sure you leave a book everywhere you go. I leave them with restaurant servers, my family leaves them at the break table at work, i take extra books to church. Anybody who looks at an avon book will find something that they like!
