Why are people so talented and I have none?

Ok, this is a little rant. I see people that have wonderful craft ideas and are so creative. They even earn a living with their talents. I apparently have no talent. I am always amazed at just how incredibly talented people are and am sincerely happy for them but I can't seem to figure out why I have none. I took this cake decorating class and I really enjoyed it but wow the cakes that came out of that class were just beautiful and some even professional looking. Mine on the other hand were mediocre at best. I'm trying not to whine but I would sure like to have a nice little hobby and be good at it. I've tried scrap booking, sewing. You name it and I've tried it but I'm just not that good at any of it. Thanks, I just needed to get that off my chest.

No person is created talentless ... you need to find what you enjoy doing the most ... then when you move in that direction you will realise how god has gifted you ... if you feel too bad about this you can do an art of living course which will open up ur talents and skills ... da site is www.artofliving.org .. i had similar problems and this course made a difference , so i reccomend it to evryone.

What do you do? Is this an online class and does it cost? I will look into it but can you tell me a little about your experience with it? Going to check the site out now.
Thanks

Maybe you are giving up to early? Most people are not born with talents, most people have to work at something to get good at it. Maybe find something that you were best at out of the things that you tried or the thing that you found the most fun and gave it another go.

I haven't given up all of them. I still love the cake decorating and I am improving but still far from really good. But my 7 year old loves them. :)

Why dont you start blogging. This way you can become popular among your friends. You can start it on hobbies. And also from now whenever you try another class/hobby try to do something diffrent. Keep it in mind winners dont do diffrent work ,they do work diffrently

I tried the blogging thing once. I thought I could blog about something and earn a little on the side. I think I made 15 cents at it and worked at it quite a bit. I didn't get much traffic to it either. It was a bit disappointing.

i am sure everybody have some form of talent, even arguing well or typing out SMS at a crazy pace on a handphone are considered talents. Maybe you have not discovered yours yet

Hmmm. I believe that everyone has a talent somewhere. Yours may not lie with creative crafts but it can be anywhere else whether the performing arts, literary skills, personal relationships, communication skills...Anyway, for crafts I believe it just takes practice to build up the skills required. Expose yourself to more of these ideas whether through videos, pictures and classes- you never know whether they will trigger off ideas of your own that are equally as stunning!

Well I don't know if this will help or not but I personally believe that each and every human being on this planet is the world's best at something. It is just that the absolute majority of us don't know what that one thing is! One day you will find something that inspires you and before you know it you will have people wishing that they too could have the same level of skill that you have! My advice is to not be overly concerned with asking yourself WHY you can't seem to do things as well as others; rather you should seek your own path and the rest will fall into place I promise you!

I don't think so. Don't think that way. You do have talents like the rest. You just have to discover it. Cultivate it. And share it with others. No one is created without a talent.

Everyone has a talent, you just haven't discovered yours. I do believe that you seem to judge yourself harshly, if I asked a friend of yours what your talent was I bet they'd give m a list of qualities. Talent is not just creative, though it seems where your interest lies.
There are so many crafts out there that I am confident there is something you'd be wonderful at. Have you tried collage, quilting or painting? My friend makes beautiful bags with very simple techniques. Craft is often less about skill or technique and more about inventive ideas. Spend some time looking at etsy and other craft sites. Look at what people are making then try a few things. You may surprise yourself!

My 'craft creations' are always much better in my head
i think the secret is to enjoy the craft for the participation and not to be disappointed when its not the masterpiece that you envisaged. The people that you make things for will appreciate the fact that you have invested your time and energy and are not looking for perfection. Enjoy doing the things you try and I'm sure you will find your undiscovered talent. Maybe you are more of a techie or have great people skills? Good luck

Everyone has a talent, maybe because you think you don't have a talent because you didn't discover it yet..
Try something you didn't do before and you will discover where your good at or not.

I'm sure you have a talent you just haven't found it yet. It may not be in decorating cakes or sewing or crafts. Keep searching and before you know it you'll have found your talent.

I know exactly how you feel. My father was a talented musician who sang, and could play three instruments. My mother wrote songs and poetry.
I however cannot carry as tune in a bucket, and don't have a creative bone in my body... Maybe I'm adopted! Haha!

i believe that everyone on earth has a talent to share. i mean, there are even people who were born without any arm can paint by using their feet and a little imagination. those we consider handicaps are actually intelligent.
maybe you ar really talented. not maybe... you really are talented. you just haven't found the real talent in you. one day, you will find one thing that you will surely enjoy and will be passionate about it.

Hey, oneneaner, cheer up a little bit, I think everybody has got his own talent, sometimes it might be not easy to discover, it hides somewhere. I used to complain just like you did during last few years, but I now find that complaining really doesn't work, it can only make you ever worse. So I think the best way for you to do now is try to be happy and try to find where your talent lies, only in this way can you hopefully be really successful, and others would be amazed how incredibly you are.
Have a good day.

Hi Oneneaner,
Sometimes I will have the same feeling to you.Feeling that the other guys are more talented than me,I'm just a follower. But,even so,I still have a strong feeling that I also have a talent in some area, just do not find out yet. We can live in the world, most of time,is depending on our confidence to ourself. If we can not find it,we will feel miserable so much. So,just take a look to the other side of the world and yourself, and develop more interest in your daily life, then maybe you can find your talent. As to me, I do not make cake, but I can cook egg so well.Tough it seems so easy, but I can get a little to my cofidence.
Hope you can find your talent soon.
Glad to myLot,
Janice*

Sometime we have to admit that the world is not equal since we were born. Some people born in very rich family, but someone born in the family that they can not even eat their fill.
And,once I read a book, in the book the auther says what kind of talent that one person have was decideed by the Past Life.So I think, if we do not have much talent, we can learn from now on, and the next life we will be very talant.
When we see some person is very talant, we must think of one thing, maybe he or she spend many effort, but we can not see their effort.

I think everyone has some sort of talent they're great at. You just need to be patient and you'll discover it. It could be photography, writing, scrapbooking, anything really. Believe me, I'm surrounded by super talented people. My hubby's a musician and can play numerous instruments. I don't have a musical bone in my body. My sister in law is wonderful with decorating and photography.
I've found my niche in writing. I've been doing it since I was a little girl. Whether it be short stories or poetry. You'll find yours. :)
