Need advise from all the cat owners!

Okay our neighbors have two outdoor cats. They put a huge bowl of food and water outside for them and never take them inside. Here's the problem. The cats constantly use the bathroom around my front door and I am constantly cleaning it up. They are also climbing all over my car and in my back yard. I have to bring my dog in at night because she barks at them all night when they are roaming around. I tried to talk to the neighbor but I might as well talk to the fence. They just look at me like I'm speaking a foreign language and walk away. I've called the city and they say buy a cat cage and catch them and they will come pick them up. These aren't the nicest neighbors I've ever had and the last thing I need is their cats missing and a city animal control truck in front of my house. Any ideas on how to control the problem or keep them out of my yard?

There are sprays that you can buy that will keep cats away from an area but you have to spray regularly. In your case you should spray around your front door area and also around the parameter of your property. Check your local pet supply store, they might have some other ideas, too. I don't think it's a good idea to trap your neighbor's cats because that definitely will cause a problem between the two of you. Are you sure you can't just file a complaint with Animal Control? It sounds to me like they're trying to pass the buck on to you when they should be dealing with the problem.
