Pizza Hut

A while back on our holiday we decided to take the children to pizza Hut as a treat, we sdon't normally eat out with the children as the cost is so great, depending where you go. We choose Pizza Hut as the nearest one to us is miles and miles away. We had a lovely evening in Pizza Hut, the children enjoyed their pizzas and were very pleased that they got to choose salad of there choice from the salad bar to go with the pizza they choose. Also the pizza they chose came with free re fill drimks, again very good as our children tend to drink like fish and it does make me cross when food places bring the drinks out before the meal as the children drink them and want more (we have got around this one by asking them to bring them with the meal. I know they do that so you buy more drinks, but when you don't have much money!!!) The children also got some colouring sheets to do while waiting for the pizzas to come. We only had drinks and pizzas but the cost wasn't as much as I thought it would be. And no we didn't leave a tip, they wanted £5 tip!! And we shall be travelling to the next big city to have another pizza at some point.

Service and food was good, I don't really believe in giving tips. I think it goes back to when i was a nurse in an old peoples hospital. The old dears would tip the hospital paid hairdresser who was on a good wage but we nurses never got tipped for clearing up sick or wiping btms. And we were all paid by the same firm. I know some of you will say its not quite the same thing but a lot of us nureses thought the same.

But servers pay is based on them getting a tip from the customers. You don't are not expected to get tip when you work at a nursing home.

We went to pizza hut for the first time last year, and it was really good. The amount of food that comes is quite surprising, I think we ended up taking most of ours home because there was just too much of it!! But the kids felt quite special as they had their colouring sheets and crayons!! We left a tip, just about £3 we did not get asked for a certain amount of a tip, if we had they would have got nothing LOL.

good for you and the kids. it is nice to spend some time together especially in places you all really want to stay in. i love pizza hut, too. their pizza's really delicious and worth every penny. i don't order refillable drinks since i can't even finish a glass of cola or juice. just like you, i don't leave tips.

Interesting. I take it that free refills aren't the thing in the U.K. like they are in the U.S. We get free refills on soft drinks at almost every restaurant, have since, I'm thinking the mid to late 1980's. I guess that's one of those things you don't think about (at least I don't think about.... ).

It's good to hear that you all had a great dinner and had fun. I wish I could go to a pizza place like pizza hut more often for they serve great pizza especially the deep dish pizza. Yes I do agree with you on the fact that whe the driks are brought out first kids tend to fill up on them and don't want to eat as much when the food arrives. My son is like this and I have to explain to him that it's better to have it with the food though he dosn't like my answer but hey it's true. It's good that they can give coloring sheets to the kids to color while they wait. It helps to keep them occupied and happy for the time being while they wait. I hope you get to have many more exciting times like this. :)

If Pizza Hut is all you have then you really don't have much. I grew up in New York and got spoiled by some of the best pizza in the world. Now I live in South Carolina and find it hard to get good pizza. None of the chain store pizzas are really any good at all. There are a couple of places near where I live where the people have come down from New York and opened there own pizza restaurants that are okay. Something in the water makes it different. Pizza Hut is cheap but that's part of their problem for me. Someday I hope to get to go to Italy and taste real Italian foods but then again I'd rather go to England and travel around to see all the historic sites.

I'm glad to hear you all had a good time. I love it when I get a lot for the amount of money I spend. As for tip, at our Pizza Huts they don't really have the employees coming to our tables much. Just an occasional drink refill. So tipping is usually less common at a Pizza Hut than say an Olive Garden or even a more casual place like Red Robin (unique burger place, not sure which countries have them).

I always enjoy it when my baby and i eat at pizza hut... we didn't go there before because we prefer Shakey's pizza... but when we had bad customer service experience we decided to try pizza hut... and it was a good thing... the last time we ate there... my baby was given a tic tac to set to play with... the food was great... and very affordable... the manager even gave us a salad coupon for our next visit... as for the tip... i didn't need to give any because it was already a part of the bill... 10% service charge... Seems like the Pizza Hut higher ups are are doing their best to make customers enjoy Pizza Hut very much...

place that are kid friendly are good, seeing as i have 3 kids myself. i like the taking my family to the all you can eat places, you usually get a good price. with my youngest being as small as she is, and only eating certain big peoples stuff i hate to have to pay for her own meal somewhere, but with all you can eat places i can get extra of something shes able to eat and she can pig out on that then me and my husband and my older two kids can get what we want. the one place we like to go is the golden griddle all you can eat breakfast. they have colouring pages and crayons they kids get to take home, kids get their refills mommy and daddy get free coffee refills. the selection for food is great. hubby, my oldest and me can get lots of stuff to chose from. my three year old son thats picky as heck can go thru and get me what he likes and fill up on that. i can get toast and pancakes and jellos and stuff like that for the baby to eat. we usually spend about 40-45 dollars when we go but everyone one comes out stuffed and thats for 5 people so ithink thats pretty good when it ends up costing us about 25-30 dollars when we go to some fast food resturant like mcdonalds.

I love Pizza Hut myself. I used to eat there a lot when I was a kid. We didn't have the option of getting bottomless drinks nor did we have a free side salad to go with the pizza so we always ordered two family sized pizzas. I'm happy that you and your family enjoyed the meal. Eating out is definitely fun. The cost shouldn't hinder you from doing so because it's always about enjoying. You can also choose lower-priced items on the menu to go with your budget. I think you should've left a little tip though even if money is tight. Not only did you get free coloring materials, drinks, and salad, I'm sure the waiters were also very nice and accommodating.

I'm glad that your experience at Pizza Hut was a good one. I probably wouldn't have tipped either if all they did was bring you the pizza and that was it. My opinion of tipping has changed since I have a son that is a waiter. Waiters don't make much money and in many cases don't even make minimum wage, so they rely heavily on tips for their income. If they give me exceptionally good service I will leave them a bigger tip than those that don't. Best wishes to you and your family.

My opinion may be a bit skewed since I own and operate a couple independant pizza restaurants. I know for a fact that I bring in more revenue than the Pizza Hut down the street and I'll tell you why. 1) The service is horrible and there's never a manager on duty that you can actually voice your concerns with. 2) It's Dirty and so are the employees. There dozens of violations from temperature controls, to rat droppings, and employees not washing hands. How about some pee with your pizza? 3) The pizza recipe is nasty. Pizza Hut years ago may have had a great recipe but, due to them fallimg into the trap of money horders, their recipe has crapped out. I won't touch corporate company pizza places.

Pizza Hut has really changed thru the years and not for the better. Back when I was in high school, we use to love going to Pizza Hut on weekends, and it was great for dates. The Pizza Hut was in the same shopping mall as a $1 Movie theater. Years later, I enjoyed taking my young daughter to Pizza Hut to eat and I noticed it had turned into a favorite place for young families. The price was still right but the service had greatly decreased and it continued to get worse as the years went by. The last time I ate there was about 5 years ago when they had only one employee to work the entire restaurant (and one person in the kitchen). I really felt bad for those guys and they told me they were use to it. Generally most of the people hired wouldn't show up. I tried to go to a few other locations in this town but found the same story. Then we tried ordering delivery from Pizza Hut thinking that perhaps that would be better. Wrong. The first order arrived 2 hours after we had called it in with no explanation given by Pizza Hut. However, I really think this is a problem just within this city. When we travel to other cities, states, the Pizza Huts are just like they use to be here. As far as tipping, we've always tipped in this part of the world but sometimes I think that could be the problem. People assume a tip will always be left so they don't even attempt good customer service.
