Your dog is not feeling well that's why it's eating grass trying to cure whatever his feeling. don't worry he knows what kind of grass to eat.

Since the first time my dog ate grass, my parents will tell me that she's not feeling well. Most of the time as what other MyLot's users pets had experienced, she will vomit (the grass with brown water) after that. This is my belief that dogs will cure themselves when they are not feeling well.
I did searched on the internet for the reason. You may read this article for more information:

Don't worry, Shellverma. Your dog is fine. Just need to make sure that she does not eat grass that has been treated with fertilizer, pesticides or herbicides (as stated in the article).

To my understanding dogs eat grass as a form of self medication. If they have an upset stomach for example they will eat grass to try to make themselves feel better. Every dog I have had has done this at some time or another and apart from occasionally making them throw up (Which again is maybe why they eat it in the first place!) I don't believe that it does them any harm and also doesn't mean that there is anything overly serious going on.

My dog eats grass sometimes too and then will throw up. All animals tend to eat grass at one time or another. I have seen many animals eat grass. I think they think it is medicine for them. My dog will also dig in the dirt with his nose and try to eat worms or something in the ground. I'm not sure why he does that.

It's pretty normal for dogs to eat grass. My dogs all do it all the time. I will warn you that he might puke it up. Most dogs do where others won't. If they have an upset stomach he might be doing this. Another thing is that it helps with hairballs. They do lick themselves and they get hairballs all the time. Grass helps to minimize their hairballs. I would wait for a bit see what happens and if it's something you can't handle or if it seems it doesn't help your dog go see a vet. But you have nothing to worry about right now.

His tummy might be upset. Dogs eat grass because apparently it helps make it feel better.
He might puke all that grass back up here in a little while.
My dog's stomach was upset a few days ago, he ate some grass and he's fine now.
:)
Don't worry. It's normal.
