Things that go bump in the night

Angel or Ghost? - Which is it, Angel or Ghost?

Last night, shortly after I went to bed but while I was still awake,I heard something that sounded like someone bumping into a wall. Since I was the only living creature in the house I chuckled and said something aloud about something being heavy. I didn't hear anything else and soon drifted off to sleep. This morning when I got up and headed to the bathroom I found that somehow one of the hall closet doors was opened and there on the floor was a mess. A ceramic owl (not broken thankfully) and two boxes of feminine products whose contents were scattered about. I assume it was the ceramic owl that made the thud noise I heard. This is the first time the spirits within my house have done such a thing, normally they just either walk quickly through a room or they stand and watch over me at night (from a distance normally). I wonder what I did to rile them? So, anything strange like this ever occur at your home?

That is a scary feeling to have isn't it to know you have ghost in your place? I have had some weird stuff happen but not like that. I have my cat that is the only one that stays with me and there has been a couple of times it felt like someone was touching my side of my waist while I was on the computer typing away. I know it's not my cat doing it for he was in the kitchen sound asleep when this has happend to me. I think it would be actually cool to have one do to me like it did to you for then I can actually say that there is such things as spirits but nothing major has happend but I never can tell it could.

The spirits in my house don't scare me usually, they are more likely to annoy me when I see them out of the corner of my eye. I have really bad peripheral vision at times and things that move too quickly bother me because of that. One of the spirits appears to be heavy, as sometimes when I am in bed I feel something like someone sitting down on the bed and the bed reacts like someone heavy has sat down on it. Kind of strange for a spirit to seem heavy like that. My spirit needs to go on a diet!

They're looking for your purple shoes which are now on my feet and you are left with only a picture! ROFL I used to have a poltergeist that followed me through 4 different moves to 4 different homes in 3 different towns! LOL My youngest was the first to 'see' him. Used to sit in his room and play with 'him' for ages when he was a pre-schooler. Polly as we called him (yeah I know girl's name but it was short for poltergeist) used to play tricks with objects all the time and it would drive me nuts. Finally one day my youngest who was tired of being 'blamed' for his 'friend's' behaviour, put his little hands on his hips, stood in the middle of his room and practically yelled "Ok Polly, I've had it up to here (hand goes to chin) with you! You are not fun anymore. Go away! I'm getting to big to play with you any more anyway!". With that he stomped out of his room and slammed the door. We didn't have a Polly problem again.

They happen in my house all the time. At first I didn't think much of it since we are the original owners of the house, but as time passed I noticed things happening which had happened to me when I lived in a previous residence. I guess they packed up and moved with me. Often times when I'm alone in the house I hear strange noises, but since its a two story house, I chalked them up to the house foundation settling. Lately though, like you, I'm finding messes where previously there was none when no one's been in the house. I guess they are just being a bit mischievious and trying to get my attention.

Yes, it does sound like they came along when you moved. Making mischief is one thing, messy is something else Hope they don't get too messy.

I have a dog already, but he stays outside in the back yard That dog is such a chicken if he heard any noises he'd probably put his tail between his legs and run and hide I am always careful, I just was being lazy last night. If the girls had been home I would have checked out the racket.

I love your personality. You chuckled at it. I have had things move in my home a Picture jumpped off the wall and a music box played by itself, so it does happen. I don't think they meant to make it fall to be honest. I don't think you riled them, but then again you could do an EVP session.

So long as they don't talk to me while I am sleeping and wake me up, I am okay with these spirits. Yep, might as well chuckle, beats getting scared

Yes, it is true. No, I am not afraid of these spirits or the strange things that happen in the house. These spirits are not evil, although this is the first time they have been "playful". I don't know what caused them to make a mess of that cupboard, but I'm sure they had a good reason. Or, at least, I HOPE they had a good reason

What did I tell you about upsetting the ghosts? I told you time and time again it was a bad idea but do you ever listen? Of course not!! LMAO. It was the squirrels, I wanted to send them over just to sacre you, apperantly they didn't do a good enough job. They also didn't apperantly write the message on the wall that I told them needed to be there. I will have to have a talk with them about that!!!

I gave them a marker to use! those silly squirrels prolly dropped it along the way. Bad bad squirrels!! I had asked them about it and the one kinda got a look on his face and wouldn't answer me. Then they scattered and brought me some acorns. I guess it was their way of saying sorry.

Now if something like that did happen I would really want to know for sure if it is a spirit. I have not had any experiences like that before. But it seems like it was trying to get your attention. You didn't get up so it left you a mess for you to know that it was there. What did you do different that day that you hadn't done before?

maybe they were mad that you were home alone lol. i've had strange things happen in my house. and other places i've lived but most of it here. at other places i lived things would get moved, toys that had no batteries in them would start playing songs. the place we are in now i've seen all kinds of things. even the cat does. she's a real lazy cat. but when see shes what we call her ghost mouse she will run like her butt is in fire to the point she will run half way up the wall. i've sat here in the living room late at night and seen a tall slender lady figure out by the kitchen, a not so slender figure, a lil med size dog shape. things will get moved, pictures will fall off the wall or will tilt when no ones near then. my son and baby girl have been born while living here. theres one corner in my living room they would/will stare at. and they will giggle, stare forever at or baby babble at so i know they are talking to someone they see there.

Yeah, i had this experience when my second daughter was about 3yrs, old. You see we live in a compound with my family but our room is the last in the compound. We still didn't have a colored tv then, so we go to my brother's which is just a few steps away to wacth coz' my daughter wants to watch in colored. We were at our doorstep when i heard this soft whistling sound. I looke around and there was no one there but us. My brother's room was now dark coz they have gone to bed. So, i ignored it and opened our door, then there it was again, i hurriedly led my daughter inside and then a third whistle. I felt my hair rise and had goose bumps all over. I locked the door and went to bed that instant with my daughter. The next day i mentioned it to my family and one of my nephew has had the same experience a few days back but just didn't mention it.

Yes, they are not but at least that's all this spirit does. Whistle at us, i've got 3 girls and we've all experienced this whistling at different parts of the compound. But it doesn't happen often, maybe just when the spirit is bored.....lol

Here's another incident i just remembered after reading singout's post about the phone. Have you heard your name called out by someone you thought is one of your family members? Yeah, this is true, someone or rather a voice calls your name when you check it out there's no one there. Or if ever you have your family with you, no one has heard the voice but you. This also happens here in our place. There are times that we get scared but sometimes we just ignore them.

Hello fwidman, Wow! weren't you scared? I would be, who ever is watchin over must be wanting someting and that is why he is seeking attention frome from you, so say a little pray or you might want to bring a medium to cleanse your home. Tamara

Tons of strange things like that were always happening in my old house. The tv would turn on by itself, strange noises and voices, our pets acting weird and seemingly watching someone, and I would see things sometimes. Real weird stuff. But my family and I moved and there hasn't been much activity in this house.

ive had the tv go on by itself. i have seen shadow people walking around. the front door chained and locked has unlatched itself and opened. there has been voices and the sound of music. i have seen my husband attacked. scratch marks the whole nine yards. i have seen drawers open and close. fausets turning on by themselves. showers go on. i have heard footsteps. i have even caught a few evps. and pictures that have a mist progressively engulfing the pictures. there was one time that i was outside taking pictures of a full moon rising and catching mist coming into the picture. i took 10 shots and when i went to see them on the computer, the mist was coming in and you could see figures. i have had toys that were broken go off. and i have had things move from one place to another. pretty strange things. i have a theory on why we are seeing these things but it is just a theory.

One day I was sitting in the living room watching television when the phone rang. I don't normally answer the phone personally. I let the caller ID answer for me. It was set to answer after 4 rings. On the third ring I heard my daughter yell from the bathroom, "Will somebody please answer the phone?!!!" "OK, but don't yell at me!" After all, I am her father and I didn't like her yelling at me like that. After finishing with the telemarketer (grrrrr), I went to the bathroom to tell her what I thought about her yelling at me. When I arrived, the door was open and there was no one there. Further more, my daughter was never in the house. Needless to say, I was pretty shook up.

I guess that, since you have acknowledged their existence, you have to play with them. You can leave something out for them to play with. Maybe they want you to watch or something. I guess that you can ask, since they don't mind bothering you, why mess up your things? Now they seem to now how to bug you. They can do worse. If I couldn't be seen like a ghost, I would do the wildest things. Wouldn't you? It would more toublesome when they start bothering you in the middle of the day too.

They better not do it again! The girls will be home soon and I wouldn't want them to find a mess like that since they always get up before I do. I better yell at whoever did it and tell them to knock it off. Yes, if I couldn't be seen I'd probably get into a lot of mischief like that

Hello Fwidman, I dont have a lot of stories but a few weeks ago, I was sitting at my computer and I heard what sounded like someone turning a doornob. That scared the daylights out of me pretty good and I decided it was time for me to go to bed. I never found out what was really making the noise but I know that my dog hasnt figured out how to work the doors and I do live alone. Cheers, Tianna

We have the spirit of a little girl in our house. I am not sure why she is here, but, she doesn't scare or bother us. She does like to get into makeup bags and scatter the contents on the floor in my daughter's room. Today, she decided to "take a bath" after my daughter got out of the tub. My daughter came into the living room and asked me to come here and look at something. I didn't hear exactly what she said, so I got up and followed her down the hall to the bathroom. She pointed at the bathtub. The stopper was out of the drain, but the water was at the same level it was when she took the plug out. I moved from the door to get the plunger, suddenly I heard splashing. My daughter laughed, and said, "Amelia, get out of the tub and let the water out!" There was one more swishing noise, like someone getting out of the tub, then the water started to drain. We just looked at each other and grinned. She has been here for 5 or 6 years. She rubs my arm, the way a small child does, sometimes. I acknowledge her and she goes about her business. Most of the time she is in my daughter's room. When my daughter works a lot, and isn't home for days at a time, Amelia wanders into the living room and watches tv with me. Like I said, I don't know why she is here, and the only person who is really spooked by her is my son. He told her she is not allowed in his room, she leaves him alone. For the most part, the rest of us are amused by her. My daughter and her friend said that they offered to help her "cross over" if that was what she wanted, needless to say, she likes it here, for whatever reason, so she stays.
