how do I back up the sims 2?

I know that this is a really stupid question, but I am not sure how to back up the sims 2 game. I hear people talk about the need to back up the game, but I am not sure how to do it. Could anybody explain this to me. I would hate to live the little neighborhood and sims that I have created so far. Thanks for your help in this.

Go into your My Documents folder. You'll see a folder in there called EA Games. Inside of it, is a folder called The Sims 2. Back that entire folder up. That is, the folder called The Sims 2. It contains your downloads, neighborhoods, Sims, everything you need.

In fact, you can create two versions of the game so you can have one for creations to share, and one for your personal gaming. Just drag on copy of the original before you play the game to the desktop and keep it there. That way you can have a clean copy-just in case.
