Anyone who knows of a good affiliate program?

I heard of affiliate programs but I don't have any idea how it works or if you will really earn with it especially if you'll do it part time. Don't want to leave my full time as of yet until I'm sure it's stable enough.
Also, are there affiliate programs who cater globally? Meaning, are there companies offering this program worldwide?

Oh hi! Don't have any particular thing, just a good online business which is sustainable. I'm not sure but my interests are creating concepts and organizing events, web researching, web surfing to name a few.
If I really do earn from an online business, a legitimate online business of course, then I wouldn't think twice about sharing it to family and friends.

it is easily said than done
to be affiliate, you must have lot of contacts
it is very difficult job
