I have a mother dachshund who has been living in peace and harmony with her 2 pups that are about 2 years old now. They have always gotten along great and played well together, until yesterday. The mother dog attacked the little female. She didn't get hurt because I separated them quickly, but I really don't know what to do now. I don't want this type of aggressive behavior to continue. Has there been anyone else dealing with this problem and how are you resolving it?

Hi there elaine5004,
It's jealousy, those 2 pups, are taking your attention. There is something you always do and gave before for her self, and then she have to share. For the animals she's trying to show she still in charge for the whole house, Be patien, give the food to her first then the pups.
That might help to show that you still care of her.
Happy posting!!

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. They get so much attention, it is hard to believe they have time to be jealous of each other. They are family in this house get included from dawn to dusk. Only way to wear them out, they are young and energetic.
More than I am at times. Thanks again.

Unlike humans, animals do not always love their babies forever. Those pups are adults now and the mother may view the female "pup" more as competition than family now. You might want to research the breed and canine behavior on the internet to see if there is some resolution to their relationship problem.

Thanks for the advice. I can see homework ahead obviously.
