I have no clue why people have less manners these days. I am automatic with my thank you's but then that is how we were raised.

Thank you. I am glad u were raised with manners. Many children are not being taught manners and I think this is the basic problem..No appreciation for there fellow man.

I always say "Thank You" when someone does something nice for me. I have raised both of my boys to do the same. They don't even think about it, it just pops out when someone does something for them or says something nice to them. The teachers always compliment me on how mannerly my boys are. They make me so proud!

For me saying sorry is ok for me ... It is always good for people to admit their wrong doings by saying sorry ^_^

I always say please, may I, thank you, excuse me....etc. But you are right. It seems that a lot of people out there have lost their basic manners. It's a real shame.

I dont find it hard to say thank you. I say it all the time to anyone who deserves it. If someone does something for you they deserve at least that.

Saying thank you is to acknowldege an act or service that has been received. Some people do not acknowledge this as they are afraid that they will be obligated to make a return in some form; or they just do not have the humility to acknowledge. I guess it's also a reflection of our upbringing and our society to some extent.
