Has Reality TV Show Challenges Helped Boost or Glamourize certain careers?

Think of shows such as Project Runway, Top Chef, America's Next Top Model, etc...Do you think since the launch of these popular shows that these careers have become more glamorized for people to pursue. I don't remember so many people wanting to be a model (at least openly) until America's Next Top Model. What do you guys think? Do you agree or do you think its something else?
