Kangaroo.. and saving the planet, what connections does it have.. Simple the digestive system of Kangaroo is different and produces no METHANE gases.. What methane gas? yea.. Methane gas is produced by cows and sheep.. through belching and flatulence..and it is found that it has more stern effect on the environment than carbon foot prints. Already..it is said that Kangaroo population is twice that of the Australian population.. May be it would be one of the tactical methods of the government to reduce the kangaroo population.. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7551125.stm

Hi saivenkaat... I agree with what you say. Here in Australia we already eat kangaroo. It is available in some restaurants on the menu and is available to buy in the supermarket. Personally I can't stand the smell of it, and could never bring myself to eat it, but there are plenty of people who love it. It's also available fresh from my local pet shop in a minced up form and I buy it for my cat occasionally as a treat... he adores it and rears up on his hind legs meowing his head off to get at it when I'm getting his dinner dish ready. Many farmers in Australia also have culling licences and are legally able to shoot and kill a certain number of kangaroos, depending upon a number of criterian, but a lot of them are fed to the dogs or discarded, burned or left for the crows to clean up. I'm not too sure about your stats as there are approx 20 million people in Australia, I don't know that there would be 40 million kangaroos, but they are out of control to be sure. If it wasn't for the crops and the water troughs farmers put out for their stock, the kangaroo population would never have exploded the way it has. Australia, being a very dry continent, prone to years of drought has historically kept the kangaroo population to a more natural and manageable level, the strong survive and the weak perish... I like your thinking though, it makes a lot of sense!

Hi Cinnamon welcome to mylot.. and have a good time here. Very recently i read in an article that the Kangaroo Population has exceeded twice the Australian population.. I am not convinced really with the article as the methane gases produced having imprints on environment than that of the poisonous gases from the factories.. What about e-wastes? That which gets piled tons and tons every day in the world.. All these have in it the definite carbon emission, and is more pronounced than this. May be as i already said it could be a strategy to promote, or to give more licences to cull kangaroo's who's population is spinning out of control.

Hi saivenkaat802003! I have never ate kangaroo meat before and I am not even sure if that will be cheaply available in our local market if that will be the case. haha..But if people will push through for that, then I may count myself in if ever I decide to eat meat. For now, I am very happy and contented with just eating vegetables and fish regularly and eat meat on very rare occasions. Take care always..God Bless!

They had something like that here in the US a farmer with cows was studying something like this. It would be nice if they could get a hold on this. Another means of gas then how they have been getting it.
