Well if I counted right we have 137 more days until Christmas! That's 137 fun filled shopping days! At what time of the year do you start your shopping? Do you get all the big sales right after Christmas and just save them for the year or do you go out a couple months before hand and get your presents? Me personally I always tell myself I am going to go out a couple months before hand and get everyone done. Do I do that? Almost never...I'm always scrambling like the majority of crazies at the mall the last couple weeks beforehand.

Well, we have some major sales seasons here, called the mega-sales. I often try to shop for gifts during these sales, but it's difficult to shop for kids. Their interests in toys usually change by year-end, so I would buy them books or clothes (one size bigger) for them. Sometimes I'm not able to get anything during these sales, and then I'd forget all about it, until the last week before Christmas, which means a mad rush to buy at any price!

I never really start shopping until December. I try to buy the kids some things when I see them but I usually end up giving them to them not long after I buy them. I wish I could talk my family into opening presents a week later. We could spend the same ammount and come home with 2-3 times as much after all the sales.

I usualy start around the middle of september. That way I have had time to settle down from school starting back up and am able to start finding some deals. I try and go in waves so I am not spending so much at once and can get it all out of the way before december when the streets are crowded and the stores are mobed.

I have usually started well before now. I collect gifts all year round most years. This year I haven't even started. I haven't even given it a whole lot of thought yet. I guess I should get motivated. I have a TON of people to buy for every year.

I'm a last minute Christmas shopper. I don't really start until December, and even then I don't start the bulk of my shopping until a week or two before Christmas. I battle the crowds and long line ups in the stores, but I'm just too much of a procrastinator to get out and do it in advance! Every year I tell myself that I'll start sooner than I did last year, but I just never seems to get started early. I admire those people who get their shopping done months in advance. I don't think I could ever be one of those people!

I wonder if they have a class for procrastinators like us that teaches us not to procrastinate!

AAAAGH! thanks for scaring the c*** out of me, I didn't realise that.I do tend to go out a couple of months beforehand and get everything, but what do i always forget, wrapping paper!I hate going into shops too close to christmas,i actually got thrown out of a sandwhich shop on christmas eve beacuse someone cut the line in front of me and i lost my temper and told themhow rude they were and haw she had no right to cut in line and who did she think she was,in retrospect i may have deserved to be thrown out but i had been jostled about and had my feet run over and i lost my temper. She didn't apologise for cutting though.

I would have responded the same way to someone rude like that! Some people just have no manners and think they are all high and mighty and don't have to wait in line like the rest of us. I'm surprised you got kicked out though, it should have been the cutter! And sorry for scaring you!

That's what i said, but my mum and sister told me i was just being rude!

I start early...right after christmas so I have a bunch of things that I bought with really good sale prices on them...the only problem is that one year I misplaced a couple of them and had to buy different gifts! LOL....one I gave my son-in-law last year I had bought four years ago and forget I had it stashed in the closet!

I saw aneat golf course calendar for my dad he is a great golf fan. It was at the dollars store. They have nice calendars there for a buck. They would be ten daollrs in some stores.

I'm usually done by this time of the year! This year, peoples' lives have been changing too much for me to do a lot of shopping, so far. I'm waiting until I know what's going on before going at it, for most people. I started about a week ago and have one person done (it was a housewarming/early Christmas combo present), and one person partially done.

I will start looking for items now when I am out getting school clothes and school supplies. I can pick up the little stocking stuffer items as things go on sale. My big shopping will begin the day after Thanksgiving. I can usually get most of it done if there are good sales on that day. Then I will watch the internet and usually get in on some good deals and finish up that way. I almost never go into the stores as it nears Christmas. I just can't deal with the crowds. I also find that if you wait until a few weeks before Christmas the stores put great deals if you want to buy over the web. They will throw in free shipping or big discounts and it saves from running around from store to store to find an item that is out of stock everywhere.
