Well, our foods are different from yours. Since I have to plan for a frugal dinner then I would say, I will try to prepare for veggies and steamed fishes every night, Monday to Friday. That would be enough for us. My husband and I don't eat a lot at night, we just eat soup and steamed fish because he has a digestive problem and I need to lose some weight.

I have a a family of 5 and need to put dinner on the table :) We don't really eat fish as none of my children like it and it would go to waste.

I don't plan my meals that far in advance, but I often do french fries as a frugal dinner. My other ones are pasta dishes such as spaghetti, rice with a few stir fried veggies that I can afford, and potatoes are always a good choice when you're on a budget. Homemade pizza usually ends up being out of my price range, but when I have more money (and mostly time) I love making pizza.

Do you do meals with meat? or do you only do meatless? We usually go meatless once a week for health as well as money wise.

We make everything meatless. No eggs or dairy either. It really helps with the budgeting since that cuts out all your expensive stuff right there. Unless you count government issued cheese. ;)

I have not really made a weekly dinner plan for the week. I did go shopping last night and got a bunch of groceries, so I have an idea of what I can make for the week. Tonight I am most likely going to make a pot pie with some leftover pork roast that I put in the freezer last week. I have ground beef(broke down into 3 -1 pound servings, tenderized pork cutlets(wrapped individually and frozen when I got home), chicken tenders(5 pound bag for $4.95, can't beat that. I got 2. We are talking a LOT of meals there.), frozen lasagna(on sale for $3), frozen salisbury steak(on sale for $2.50). We are set on main dishes, I just have to figure out side dishes.

I have been using a good plan of action for the past week or so,I go to the discount store and I look for what is reduced, then there is usually a good few things with at least thirty percent off,I choose from those, then I get the rest of the meal to fit in,this paln seems to be working pretty well for me,and the savings are very good.

Sounds like a small strategy-what do you have planned for dinner this week. I love hearing what other people are eating for dinner!
