I bumped into the new Menudo interviewed by Chuck Taylor on Billboard.com. At first I thought the 80's band was going to have their comeback. The new Menudo consists of Jose Bordonada Collazo, Chris Moy, Emmanuel Vélez Pagán, José Monti Montañez, and Carlos Olivero. The band was formed via MTV reality series Making Menudo. Most, if not all, of the members are Puerto Rican. The new quintet definitely has a lot in store for them. The biggest challenge they might have to contend with is the comparison that audience will make between them and the 80's Menudo. However, this may not hold true since the current music scene and style is quite different from two decades ago, and besides there's a totally new generation of fans out there. Even if the band is marketed worldwide, they will still stay true to their roots as they will record some songs in Spanish. These new breed of Latin talent is a welcome treat for those who miss Ricky Martin and Jennifer Lopez being in the international scene. Visit their myspace account http://www.myspace.com/menudo.

I haven't heard them yet. But I was never a fan of them back then... I was more into Corey Hart. I hope this new Menudo will sound better than the first one.

I am not familiar with Corey Hart. Probably I came across his songs already it's just that I did not know he or who was the singer behind it. They will definitely sound different because they are doing pop-rock, I'm not sure though if they will sound better.
