How has your religion changed you or what does it do for you?

Being a freethinker who does not subscribe to any religious beliefs, I do find myself being curious as to the effects and impacts of religion. Is it for a sense of hope or purpose? Does it give you the guidance and governance of a higher power? Please do share!

im a catholic. i dont read bibles or go to church every sunday. what i think is more important is how you follow Gods will. for me, reading bible or going to the church every sunday will not be a good sign of being catholic. if you dont practice doing the will of God. i think if you are really a good human being you know your limit. you know what God wants us to do. hard to follow but if we try harder God will see it. i just go to the church to pray and thank him for everything he does. im not attending the mass. thats what i do.

I see your point. And I agree with you in the sense that as long as we behave in an upright manner, we are good..all roads lead to heaven (that's how I feel). I find it interesting that you do not attend the mass, choosing to develop your relationship with your God in another way.. Thank you for sharing.

Because of my faith in JesusChrist I have a blessed hope. I am looking forward to a great and wonderful future with God. Before I became a christian, or before I accepted Christ as my personal Lord and Savior, I am very much afraid of the things that will happen in the future or I am very much insecure about the future. But when I accepted Christ as my personal Savior and Lord, all my fears about the future is gone, I can look forward now to a great eternity with God. Truly my faith made me more courageous.
