Taloctoc, Kalinga is a small village north of the Philippines. The native folk there have simple joys and simple wants. Traditionally, both men and women work in the fields for a living. The village is surrrounded by a rippling river in which the native folks usually fish and bathe. Towering, verdant mountains "stand" around the barrio like sentinels. The view is breathtaking on a mountain top. You'd feel you were closer to heaven once you reach the mountain top, of course , through hiking. Mother nature abounds . There are small fresh, clear streams and a number of waterfalls found in the mountains. It is my small paradise when I was a kid. Now, I'm planning to go back. Will it still be the paradise that I have known as a young girl? I wonder. Do you love nature? Are you fond of nature tripping? What was the closest you came to experience the beauty of the wild? Care to come with me?

I so love to hear about wonderful places in the Philippines, a country that I very much wish to go to. Taloctoc sounds like a traditional village with an interesting culture. I am sure that the houses there are rustic looking and built out of natural materials. The towering mountains surrounding it sound incredibly beautiful and to go up into them would be wonderful because of the awesome views. The fresh clear streams and thundery waterfalls sound beautiful. It sounds like Mother Nature at her finest and perhaps is is off the tourist trail. Yes, I love nature. I adore watching native wildlife, seeing palm trees and other tropical plants and looking at stunning views.
I really enjoy camping at a small campsite with a picturesque view in front of my tent. I like to see coastal or country view. It is great to go off exploring in woodland, climb up mountains, go past streams, see wild animals and take many photos. I found New Zealand to be the perfect country with its superb walking tracks and gorgeous scenery.

When I come to the Philippines I intend to fly into Cebu and then go to explore the Chocolate Hills in Bohol. I will go island hoping and snorkeling. I think that from the photos I have seen that the Philippines looks like a fantastic country to explore. The people from the Philippines seem really friendly.

Went to Kalinga a couple of years ago. I can't remember the town's name though, my cousin's wife invited us over their place. The town is pristine and we got the chance to go to a hotel on a hilltop with a good view of the town. We only stayed for a day and went back to Isabela. Hope you'd have a safe trip :-) and post some of your pics when you get back from your trip.

hello-how far is that compared to the Banaue rice terrace? or is that the place already?banaue is breathe taking.i was surprised how good the people there could communicate in english. When my husband was covering the whole of Luzon---we went with him around LUzon. i loved vigan the most. now we are in Mindanao...fortunately,far from the MILF-though cotabato is included in my husband's itenerary-he doesnt go there. For nature tripping...the camiguin island, and bukidnon is the best.
