Do you concentrate on your food while your eating? I myself don't concentrate while having my food, i'll watch tv shows when im at home and when im in college i'll study and have my food or chit chat with friends and have my food. But, i read in an article that one should concentrate themselves on the food what they eat, how much quantity they eat etc.. So that this may prevent us likely to stop over eating because we will be aware of the food which gets into our stomach and we will feel full when its filled but when we are distracted by someother activities they over eat which is paves way to many disorders like obesity etc ..
A survey was focussed on kids ( kids learn from elders )
Kids today are giving new meaning to the idea of TV dinners: Many are watching television while chowing down their evening meal, a new study reveals. And overweight kids are more likely than normal-weight kids to eat in front of the television.
Researchers with the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston surveyed 287 fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders about their dinner habits for a week and found:• Children ate 42% of their dinners while watching TV.
• Overweight kids ate 50% of their meals in front of the TV, compared with 35% for normal-weight children.
• African-American children consumed 62% of their meals in front of the tube, compared with 43% for Hispanic children, 32% for white children and 21% for Asian-American children.
Please share your views with me..

Concentrating on your food when you're eating, really savoring every bite, whether it's a steak dinner or mac and cheese is absolutely necessary in order to digest it properly.
If you're eating in front of the TV you're just putting stuff in your mouth. You probably eat more this way and your digestion isn't as good.
It's hard to turn off the TV at dinner time when you live alone, but it is actually healthier. And as for a family, the dinner table is a fabulous place to catch up on the day and stay in touch with each other. As long as this is a pleasant time, food tastes better and is digested better in company.

You should always concentrate what you eat. This can result in stomach disorder. Moreover you can over eat or under eat. Eating in front of TV may result in food getting stuck in the food pipe or in worst case windpipe. My son 8 years old had this problem of eating while watching TV. The time span of taking his food became very long and he started getting rashes near his mouth due to presence of food particles near his mouth. We have stopped it completely and now he is better of.

We do not concentrate so much as enjoy the food,we chat while we eat,and we watch the tv if we choose,we have no strict meal plan, but there are the two of us here the most of the time,we like to savour our food, not hurry it,if the food is hurried we end up with wind, heartburn or stoamch ache,so we take our time eating,a meal is an occasion too
