Every sunday I always clip coupons out of our sunday paper... I always carry my coupons with me where ever I go . I normally save $10-$15 in coupons at the store. But I have noticed the coupons in the sunday paper have been changing and some of them are not worth useing.. EXAMPLE $1.00 off when you buy three boxes of cherios. To me that one was not worth it since we are not big ceral eaters in our house. We each may have 1 bowl a week thats it . not only is the price of our food is hurting alot of us but now some of the coupons are not worth useing.

every penny we can save helps .. I clip coupons too .. I really need to find a store closer to me that doubles coupons .., the ones that do are so far away from me its not worth the trip .

Hi Lafe, I agree with you...It's always like buy 3 or 4 before we will avail the coupon and for me that is still useless! SO, this time, i stopped collecting those and even without coupon, we can save already a lot at Aldis!

I stopped collecting them too .. if I had a house full and we ate the same thing all the time then ok .. but we don't .. its so sad with food cost on such a rise and the coupons are slim to none ..

My main problem with clipping coupons lately is that the coupons are not for things that I buy regularly. A lot of the time I clip them, but them they expire before I have a chance to use them.

I dont know about using all these coupons, I know I could not use 10 packs of toliet paper at once for instance or even three boxes of cheerios. I tend to buy generic becasue that seems to work out the best for me. The stores that are in my immeidiate area do not have alot of things you can get coupons for anyway.

No, I do not use coupons. I don't shop by brand names and usually buy store brands or generics for which there are usually no coupons. They are cheaper and just as good as the name brands are and come out cheaper even if the coupons were to be used on the name brands. The few times I have found coupons I might have used, I end up forgetting I have them and they never get used. It doesn't pay for me to even take the time to look at coupons.

I just thought of a related kind of thing...the 10 for $10 sales a lot of stores around here have. I have found that those do not really save me any money and in fact cost me much more than I would normally spend. They usually put items in the sale that are smaller amounts so more is needed to make up the difference. Also, on days that the sales are not going, if you check the normal price, they are usually very close to $1 each anyway, so what is the sale about? Once in awhile there will be a good deal in those sales, but most of the packaged items are not a good deal around here. Produce makes the best deals in these kinds of sales.

I usually try to. But I'm a forgetful person so even when I clip them I usually end up forgetting them. But I do make the effort to try and remember when I go grocery shopping.

I have noticed the same thing, Im an avid coupon clipper and I also print out coupons off the net when I find good ones. The ones in the paper that you are saving only a dollar on 3 isnt a great deal unless you really eat lots of cereal and then it is probably still cheaper to buy off brands. There are few brands Im loyal to anymore as the cost of everything has gone up and with a family of 7 with 12 grandchildren coming quite often I look for deals. The best deals I have seen is the any size for dish soap and deodarant, as for the food coupons I dont find them often. I wish I did to really make a difference in the grocery bill. I too always carry my coupons with me, you just never know if you might find a good deal.

I am an avid couponer. Cereal will last in the pantry for a long time if it isnt opened so I have no issue buying it in bulk. I watch for the sales that match up with my coupons though and try to get it for $1 or less a box. With the coupons I can often do this. Food prices are hurting us a lot and I am struggeling to keep the budget under control. Coupons help me a ton.

I used to be....when the kids were home but now that I am by myself I don't use coupons as much...and so many times they are for things I would never buy....using a ten cent coupon on some products doesn't pay...the store brand is usually cheaper anyway.

I have felt for a long time that most coupons are not worth using, partly because you have to buy 2 or 3 of something- that's only a good deal if you know you'll use it all in a reasonable time, and partly because even with the coupon it cost more than the generic which is just as good. There are a few products that I buy the name brand, but most generics are just as good, sometimes better. I buy generic cheerios for less than $2 a box, so it would cost me more to use the coupon! There are exceptions- I get great deals on diapers with coupons- like $3 or $5 off a large box- that's a good deal because I know I'll use them and they won't expire.

Yes, that one is bugging me, too. Even though I have three kids and they frequently eat Cheerios, buying three boxes at once is not always feasible. I frequently use coupons, but I, too, noticed a decrease in overall value and more restrictions on use. They also expire faster than they used to. Still, better than nothing, a few pennies here and a few pennies there eventually add up.

oh yes I agree I clip clip away .. and use them asap.. I find myself throwing alot of ones that expired out and it upsets me .. but like you said the pennies we save do add up

I always use coupons and match them up with sales and yes the coupons have been changing lately. Today I bought pop secret pop corn and in the past there were coupons 50 cents off one but now the coupon is 50 cents off 2. My store doubles coupons but still I am losing that extra money. The sales aren't as good either. Things that use to be on sale for 5 for 10 dollars are now 4 for 10 dollars. I find myself shopping at Aldis more and buying less then I normally do.

I just ordered some coupons from a site called The Coupon Clippers. The send you coupons, often multiples for the price of shipping and handling. Their minimum order is $5 but it is worth it if you can find things that you know you will use. I have also been printing out a lot of coupons for things I know that I will use. One week I saved about $50 between the store card and the coupons. Hope I can do that more often.
