What stereotype do you hate the most?

I know and have been faced with many odd and unrealistic stereotypes, and many have effected my life in many ways.
Some stereotypes have no truth, and some of a little bit of truth, but no stereotype applies to everyone, there are always exceptions.
What stereotype do you hate the most?
It can be one that effects you, or not.
For me, I hate the stereotype that athletes are stupid, because this is clearly not true and I am an athlete that was a saludictorian throughout my schooling years. IT is true in many cases, but not in all, so I hate when that is thrown around. It seems like whenever you see somebody in a sports jersey, people think that they are dumb. It also works the other way when people stereotype that smart people aren't good athletes. this one has hurt me more, because academics come first for me.

The stereotype that effects me the most is people assuming I don't eat much because I'm thin. I hate it as even now I am in my twenties and living away from home my Mums friends and family still tell them to feed me more!

Cubshater, I hate it that someone will say that athletes are dumb, too. My grandson played football throughout his high school and jr high years. The first day he went in class at college, he walked in and before he said a word, the professor (a woman) said to him, "I know how you jocks are (how she knew he was a football player, we don't know) because I've seen how you act, and you won't pass my class". If he hadn't been so naive, he would have gone to the counselor that day. Others heard her, and he didn't pass. He did everything she asked, but it wasn't good enough. His Mother would have gone and talked with the school, but she found out college students are on their own unless they ask you to go with them. But a parent can't talk to the people on behalf of their child by themselves. I think this is wrong, considering the parent is usually the one paying for the education. This almost ruined his want to even finish the year!

I don't like any of them. The ones that bother me the most are ones that involve what a "real man" should be and what "makes a man gay". Men can have feelings and emotions, they can be loving fathers, they can participate in "women's duties". None of that makes them less of a man or means they are gay. Boys can wear pink and like playing with dolls...it means nothing! I could go on and on with other ways men, gay and straight, get stereotyped and classified baed on what society expects a man to behave like.

That's my point....guys can't because society says it's wrong when that is absolutely ridiculous. There is nothing wrong with a boy who likes pink and plays with dolls! My son like pink and plays with dolls by the way.

Ummm... ok, I understand. But still, guys just can't play with dolls or wear pink. haha, I get it. This is one stereotype that almost everyone has.

To be honest, I can't think of a single stereotype that I don't hate! When I started reading this post I first thought this would be easy because the first things that came to my mind were the "dumb blond" and "dumb jock" stereotypes but while they're very common one they're sure not the only ones that drive me nuts. One for me is that all women love to shop because I'm one who doesn't! Then there's the idea that women who are athletic or men who are into more "feminine" things like fashion and the arts are gay.
We especially hear a lot about stereotypes during a political campaign like right now. I just love how the pundits can pick a group of people and claim they know exactly how they're likely to vote based on just one relatively small part of who and what they are. As if ALL women over 50 will vote for Hillary or all college graduates will vote for Obama or whatever other nonsense they've come up with or all veterans will vote for McCain.
I guess my short answer here should be that I hate that there are people who seem to think these stupid stereotypes mean a hill of beans!

I pretty much hate all of them. But, in recent years, some oldies but goodies have been given new life like "lazy Mexican". Other than those of Mexican descent who have grown up here and learned how to do as little as possible for as much as possible, every Mexican I have seen works their a$$es off doing more work in a day than most people I know would be willing to do in a week - and for far less pay because their employers value them less despite the amount of work they produce. People claim they're lazy because they take 'siestas' (or so the ones who tell me say), but what they don't understand (and apparently don't WANT to understand because they thrive on their bigotry) is that in many Latin American countries, the mid-day meal is the BIG meal of the day. And, many of these people do physical labor - not office work.
How many of us could go back to the construction site after a Thanksgiving feast? Or plowing fields or any number of physcally demanding jobs? What do we do? We kick back, let the food settle, and, in many cases, watch that FOUR HOUR football game! So what if they kick back in the middle of the day??! They go back to work afterwards and finish the day out - again, doing more work than we'd ever want to do in a day.
God, how I hate people who think like this!!! I just want to reach inside them and rip their hearts out and replace them with a Mother Theresa heart - a compassionate heart - because it's painfully obvious that theirs is non-functioning!
This was one of the despicable terms used against my daughter when she enrolled in high school here where my apartment is. This was one of the biggest reasons she quit school, moved back with her dad, re-enrolled in school there and finished on her own. Bigotry is a cancer that harms everything and everyone in its path in one way or another.

Wow, you obviously don't like this stereotype. I have never had this stereotype, but I have seen it used many times throughout the community where i live. It is horrible and I don't wish well on anyone who stereotypes like this.

That women are too emotional to be reasonable. Or that Men always think with their equipment first.

Yah, both aren't true. As a guy, I think both are false, especially the second one.

Well to be honest hate is a pretty strong word that I do not like to use! But the sterotypes that I do not like are generally related to religious beliefs for one; One such example being "All Muslims are terrorists". After living in a Muslim country for the last year I find it ludicrous that people still get funny about this and seem to place this tag on Muslims by default. I carry the "Christian" tag and can be tolerant and have at least sought to try to understand their side of things so why can't everyone else?

Probably the stereotype of the matronly grandmother who is always available to babysit and has nothing else going on in her life other than catering to her children and grandchildren.

I actually hate a lot of stereotypes but the stereotypes I hate the most are those that are gender biased. Stereotypes like all men are cheaters, women are naggers etc. I really hate those stereotypes because instead of bringing love between the two and makes things worse.
