I just notice the rating buttons today. Have they been there all along? I am now rating people positively. Why not. If the topic is good and you respond to it, it there must have been a good reason to check it out.

I am like you, and so far have not used the negative button, of course there is a chance I might. I really do like supporting the answers that seem genuine and well thought out. This is about my fifth day, I think. I am getting the hang of it. See you around the discussions.

I do use the rating system as well as the Best Responses button for discussions I start. I give a + to thoughtful, thorough responses and if someone just gives a yes or no answer, I do give them a -.

I use it when I see really, really, really good responses. But I don't just sit here all day and rate every reponse I see-- otherwise I would be rating responses for hours!

I am not the best when it comes to Rating people, but I am trying to improve. I am also working on making sure all of my Discuasions I start have Best response as well.

I did not use any rating features or select a best response for the first 2 weeks at Mylot, but then I came to realise my error. Since then I have made a point of selecting a best response after a period of time and I give + ratings whenever I read a response or discussion that I feel deserves it. I even give + ratings to responses to other people's discussion if they qualify, because the feature exists so it must be intended to be used.

I try to rate every discussion I respond to. Most of the time I give + but there have been times that I gave a - because the person was rude. The only reason I post to those is to tell them that they worded it wrong.

I rate those comments in my discussions that deserve to be rated. I don't give negative ratings.....just ignore the answer especially if its only a word or two. One excellent sentence, however, will get a plus rating. I also give ratings to some of the comments of the discussions that I have answered if they merit it. I also rate those questions or topics I consider worthy of a rating. And I always give best response when I have at least 5 responses. After a week I will give best response even if there is only one response given.

I have used it. I haven't used the negative yet. But I would if I came across racial slurs or or just outright nastiness for the sake of being nasty. I would only use it in those two cases.
