Does that apply to carry on rules only? I know i brought fish from western canada to eastern canada like 5years ago it was no problem, but that was a long time ago and only within canada. All they did before was swap and test it, they said it was fine and i continued.

I don't know any law prohibiting the travellers from one country to the other to bring canned fish. I dunno if there is really such an existing law. My husband brought us canned goods from Spain. We like here in the Philippines.

This fish is Local Fish, which we have canned ourselves. It is not fish bought at a store.

Sorry I missed the discussion, I'm way behind this week! Hope you're having a good trip! The airports probably didn't let you take it, it's probably best to ship that stuff to your destination instead of trying to take it on the plane. Have a nice vacation!!

i think you can as long as you wrap it nicely and as long as it will not be smelly. i am from the philippines and when our relatives travel or go back to the country where they work we let them bring some pickled fish or fish paste and sure it is kinda smelly. but we make sure it is wrap nicely and we make sure it does not smell. is the fish in a can already? or are you going to bring it in a bottle? if it is canned already that is sealed so there is no problem about that. if it is in a bottle make sure you wrap it with a lot of nwes paper so it will not get broken during the travel. then wrap it nicely with gftwrappers.
