Paul Newman has only weeks to live

I was shocked to learn tonight that one of my favorite actors, Paul Newman, is dying of lung cancer. The article said he only had weeks to live. He is 83 years old, which seems odd because I've never really pictured him looking that old. He has been married to Joanne Woodward since 1958. She was his second marriage. They have 3 children,and he has 2 by his first wife.

This is sad news, but not unexpected. He's been battling this disease for a long time. Years ago, I can't remember when, he made a movie in Canada, and you could tell that he was ill. He was undergoing treatments in a Toronto hospital between set calls. The man is an icon and I will be sad to see him go.

Gosh I did not think he was that old, he certainly does not look that old. Its a real shame to hear that he is so ill, I did not know that he was ill. But hes a good age, I would like to think that I might live to an age like that if I am lucky, and look that good for it too!

He aged with grace, I think. And now, after cancer, age is showing. But he was such a gracious man, nice looking and a family man. I suppose that had lots to do with him being so well-liked, besides being a great actor. You know, he and Joann met I think in 1954, but appeared together in 1958 in The Long Hot Summer and they later married that year. So they have had a long 50 year marriage.

Oh that is so sad, it is strange how we connect to these celebrities almost like they are family, you feel for them so much, and yes you are right I never thought of him as being that old either...
He look so much younger than his age. I especially like his eyes. It's not only with him but I feel for all who has or had cancer.

This is yet another celerbrity to be lost (Soon). He has done so much and he is a really good person. His charty for children with canser that is supported by his food products has been a great thing he has done. So many celebrities take their wealth and hord it to themselves. He is not one of those.

Hello Barb42,
Oh no! I can't believe it, I never think of paul Newman as old, he is a great actor and one my favourites. I've so many of his films and now its so sad, I will pray for him. God bless him.
