India wins Olympic Gold!

Abhinav Bindra won the gold medal in men's 10 metre air rifle event of the shooting competition at Beijing Olympics. The gold medal is India's first since 1980, when the hockey team emerged triumphant in Moscow. I am extremely impressed and happy about this accomplishment! Its great to see this happen. I hope this encourages Indians to take part in more sports (other than just cricket).

its just awesome. i also checked this now. first i could not believe when i opened rediff and just checked the news section. its really a nicea achievement for Abinav. Bravo Abhinav!

I'm really happy too. When I saw the live medal ceremony where they played the National Anthem and the flag went up I felt goosebumps!

That is wonderful news indeed. It should go along way in encouraging us Indians in participating and giving more an more importance to other sports. Let's hope they are able to win a few more medals. Thanks for sharing this.

GOLD? surprising. and cannot believe. getting a medal.. may be.. but, indians getting gold in olympics.. I think.. india is getting back to something speakable and worthy of.. as you said rightly, other than cricket. But, I would have felt more glad..if it is in hockey. WONDERFUL Information, thankyou for sharing.
