Whenever I use the computer, I always turn the music on when I'm not playing games. Since I use the computer for long hours, I tend to sing for as long as 6 hours. One time, I was alone at home and really sang my heart out for 7 hours. The next day, I had sore throat (sigh...:P). I learned from that and now just sing along with the songs but not really force my throat. I try to drink lukewarm water from time to time to lessen the friction on the vocal cords and try to just stop singing and talking for some minutes. I also learned not to eat sweets moments before or after singing, they're baaaad for the singing throat.

By the way, I also just lip sync when I really want to sing but my throat feels quite different already. :P

I agree pencils are really more practical. I always remember the story when Russians and Americans were competing in the space race and the Americans spent millions of dollars to invent an ink that could be used in space while the Russians brought a pencil with them. Thanks for responding.

Sorry that was meant for a different discussion. Well you really shouldn't strain your throat. Take care of it. Thanks for responding.

I am not a professional singer but i can sing up to 5 high songs. At first i'll sing low songs, to exercise first my vocal chords. After singing high songs and if i feel something not good at my throat, i'll rest, don't talk for a while and drink a warm water. Try it and i hope that this might help you.

for me, i think it depends on how high the song is. if the song pushes me to my vocal range limit, then i would say i would probably only be able to sing one song.
however, if the songs are all in a comfortable range for my voice, i could probably sing about... 5 songs?
