What is the purpose of Bomb blasts?

I really don't get the purpose of killing innocent people using Bombs, does these blast have a meaning or a reason or a purpose behind it??? What would you do if you see a guy placing a bomb??? Am from India and am really worried about these kinda issues... as it is said - "war never liked men so it killed them, don't know why do men still love war"... even i have no clue what do terrorist achieve by doing this. Wat benefit will they get. at one place there are Olympics happening where in all the countries are participating together supporting the one world one dream and other place bombings happen. its really a sad state of affairs and governments should look into it.
