Children between the ages 6 and 16 experience this problem,it is entirely manageable.Don't blame your kids for wetting the beds.Reassure your child that this is normal at their age, that isn't their fault and that you understand they are not doing it on purpose. Also do not punish or tease your child for wetting the bed.
The first step is to avoid letting the little one drink large amounts of fluid two hours before bedtime. Then have your child use the toilet just before going to bed.
A plastic cover between the sheets and mattress will help to protect the bed and when accidents do happen, let your child help change the wet sheets.
Before long time,it should become a routine they adopt themselves.Let your kids sleep in dry sheets and you can rest easy.

But do you really still think children above 10 is normal to wet their bed? I truly think it's not normal. Children over 10 years of age is already around 4 grade, i really think they are old enough to control their body. Maybe under sertain condition they can wet their bed, but the number is like once in a year or less. Well, that's my opinion.

I'm sorry but I do not think it is normal for a child 6 to 16 to wet the bed. In fact if my 16 year old son starts wetting the bed he's going to be getting in some trouble. My oldest had trouble learning to wake up, once the doctor said it was not medical we worked on getting her to stop doing it. I never made her feel ashamed but by the time she was 7 she was not wetting the bed, I told her two months before christmas santa would bring her a little mermaid bed for christmas if she wouldn't wet the bed. She had one more accident and that was it. If a 10 - 16 year old is having accidents, and there is nothing medically wrong with them then they need to be taught to get out of bed and use the bathroom. Even at 6 my daughter had to strip her bed if she wet it.

Ive seen that usually children who come from unstable families, or unhappy families suffer from bed wetting, though it may be otherwise also. If and when the bedwetting happens, I too believe not to put down the child, because it only worsens the case and gives him a feeling of low self esteem which can prove very bad for the future. Good advice roshand.
