i'm having exams this whole week and i haven't even so much at glanced at my notes!
i'm the type who always does things at the very last minute and my mum always nag me about this bad habit of mine.
like this morning for example, i was having my Business Ethics exam and an hour before that i was scrambling like mad to read through all the notes my teacher and friends have.
wow.
do you do the same too? or is it just me?

Procrastination is my middle name. I despise doing things at the last minute but I always find myself doing things that way. Not only is it extremely stressful but then my mind starts to get clouded by all of the things I need to do and I often forget what comes next. Notes/post-its do help alot. That way I can check things off as I go.

I guess it all depends. When it comes to school Im most deffinately a procrastinator. But yet, I find I do better when I leave it to the last minute than if i do it ahead of time I dont know why it just works out that way. but thats the only thing I ever do last minute. Everything else, I hate last minute. I like knowing things ahead of time so Im prepared.

I hate to cram but apparently I love doing it. when I was a student I always do this when it comes to exams and luckily I did pass and I felt like I am retaining most of my notes when I cram. Now that I am working I still do this like for example when I wanted to prepare things I needed for the next day I will always do it the next day when I have only 30 minutes to search and prepare things I needed. But I think this is a bad habit because I felt like I will have a much easier life if I prepare ahead of time.

this is true. it happens to me all the time. and with limited time at my hands i either do it without putting any effort or just copy work off someone else's paper.
haha that is really bad.
i always tell myself to prepare ahead of time so i can reach the deadline but i always forgot.
oops haha!
happy mylotting!

I know what you mean. I will always have sleepless night just because I have to do a project or a paper for the very minute. I even got a scar just because I have been in a hurry finishing a project and I ended up cutting my right knee with a blade-ouch!! Well, right now I am trying to change things so that I will have an easier life. Thanks!!

last minute?? lol!!! i was the queen of last minute. heck sometimes i would just procrastinate. i think it is all about motivation and sometimes you need to give yourself a little push. if you do it right away and get it out of the way than you'll have it done with and get to do the things you enjoy.

Hi there IInsanity!
When I was a student, I have the tendency to cram and rush things at the last minute. Though I had high grades in all my subjects, I knew I could have done better if only I did things earlier. It was always my mom who told me and reminded me not to postpone things that I can do immediately.

yes i agree with you. my mum always tell me to NOT do things at the very last minute. she says it gives people a bad impression on one's character especially if one is looking for a job.
thanks for your concern and happy mylotting!

Hi abi. I dont think study last minutes will work for me. I tried it before but it make me stress and lastly sick seriously. I think we should prepare 2 weeks before exam to get good result and wont feel too rush to study. I had prepared wednesday's microeconomic. I worry bout that paper and hopefully can get better result this time. Good luck!!! Happy myloting!!!

I also did the same thing in college, but only for those courses I take no interest in.I always tried to be a good student to study hard and got high grades at exams, but certain courses are so boring that I can not really get myself concentrated on them . So I need to prepare the exam at the last minute to review all the notes...
Although I did pass them in the end,I don't think it's the right way to do things.Maybe under the pressure, you can work things out more quickly and efficiently, but I think the nervousness, worry and pressure all make the process a torture. Only by preparing things in advance and try hard can we have the ease in mind.

I actually do that too. But since I'm going to be a freshman in college dorming next month, I know I need to change my ways. In fact, I should study right now to make a really good impression on my professors.

Do you know that there's a theory for this? Tim Ferris wrote it in his book The 4-Hour Work Week. He said that the Parkinson's Law states that a task will swell in perceived importance and complexity in relation to the time alloted for its completion. It is the magic of the imminent deadline. That is why people like to things at the last minute

I hat doing things that way but it seems that mostly everything I do is last minute. I feel that if I were to plan ahead then things would go more smoothe and be less crazy but it just never happens that way so I just go with the flow and see what happens.

that's how i see it, too. things will be smoother and better if we just prepare about it properly. yes. it does work for us, the last minute preparations. but i always get the nervous and crazy feeling by doing that.

Hi there
I used to be just like you.. Always doing things at the last time, hoping nothing goes wrong :D
But a few months ago it chanced, now I work to get things done immediatly, so I have time to check them again later.. You should try this too :D
Have a good day..

Well I am pretty much the same yes, I do tend to push things and leave it all as close to the last minute as possible. Sometimes though I find that I get better results doing it this way, maybe being under a bit of pressure just gets better results out of me!! Good luck in your exams though!!

i am just the opposite to be honest. i do everything ahead of time. i am a planner. i find it easier to keep up with things that way and if they are done they are off my mind and i do not have to worry about them anymore.

i am a planner too but my plans are always executed at the very last minute!
like if i want to go out on saturday with my friends i will either call them up the night before or when i'm in front of their house.
it annoys them a lot.

Well, what can I say? I'm guilty of this crime.I study my notes 10 minutes before an exam.Cramming would be a kind word for me.My textbooks can pass for new ones because they are never opened.I chose to review novels so my pocketbooks tend to be more dilapidated and antiquated. In college, I go to the library to sleep. Even during my board exam, I was crazy enough not to review just to see if i would pass without doing so. Luckily, I did pass and I heaved a sigh of relief. If not, I've got nobody to blame but myself. Simply put, I breezed through elementary to college without a study habit.

I have done things on the last minute basis but I ahte myself at that time because being lazy at first and doing something last minute doesnt make sense to me ... It so happens that we keep delaying things and before we know it , the time of exams has come .. it is definitely not a good habit to have , something that I owuld never advise anyone to do .. I just hate it !!!

for me normally there are things that i categorise as important and must be done before hand , while some things i do leave it to last minute.
i do regret leaving it to last minute during my school days ... especially subjects that really need understanding and which does not depend on memorizing. ho !! i failed the paper and have to resit the exam..

true. i usually leaves those that is easier to understand like business ethics and social studies to the last minute. subjects like microeconomics and macroeconomics, these two difficult subjects needs to be tackled earlier.
lol
and i forgot to ask, did you pass the exam?
mostly i have to memorize the methods of those with calculations. the rest is... all left to last minute!
hohoho!
