Did you ever dream something that you thought was really happening?

Sometimes, I have dreams that are so vivid that I feel like I'm in a movie or something. It looks so real that when I wake up, I stop and think if it really happened. The same thing happened with my husband one time. He dreamt we both had a Ducati motorcycle. When he woke up, he actually looked out the window and looked for it.
Have any of you experienced this?

Yes, I am also categorized as a person who dreams something that looks very real and when I woke up usually I will have to ponder for a while to think whether it was a dream or a reality.
I remembered this dream of mine, it happened just a fortnight ago. At that time I was so tired. My husband and I just got back from the beach which took about one hour drive from our home. When we arrived home, I had to unpack our bags and clean up a little, do some simple cooking and turn on the washing machine to do the laundry of the day which had been delayed because of that trip.
When all my chores finished, it was already past midnight. I just lay down and wished I had a good night rest. But I was wrong. The minute I closed my eyes, I found that I was circled by a group of men, not less than six of them. They started to rap me, ne by one. I screamed my lungs out, but nothing came out from my throat. I tried calling my husband, but I couldn't.
I cried and begged for mercy from all those men. But they ignored my plead, and they continued doing the beastly thing to me until I was so tired and bruised all over my body. I thought I was going to die then. Once in a while, I could open my mouth and I screamed for help, but the effort was so difficult.
When I woke up, it was only 2.00 a.m. and I saw my husband staring at me and sometimes blinked his eyes in confusion. I told him what happened and he calmed me down saying that it was only a dream. I felt so exhausted, as if the thing really happened to me.
The morale is, whenever we are too tired, don't go to sleep immediately. Make sure our mind is relaxed and I think it is true that washing out feet before going to bed prevents us from having nightmares. Adios!

Yes, most of the time I feel afraid that I might dream the same thing again. And yes, praying is the best solution to overcome any problem. It settles down the mind, don't you agree? And thanks for selecting me as your best response. Have a nice day!

Yes, I believe it has something to do with how tired we are. You are right, we should be more relaxed when we go to sleep so we won't invite bad dreams. Your dream was scary. I know what you mean about shouting for help but nobody hears you. Good thing your husband was beside you to calm you down. Sometimes, when this happens to me, and I go back to sleep, I dream about it again, like a continuation. What I do is pray believe it or not.LOL! Thanks for the story!

hi jammyt.....yes it happens to me many times, sometimes I see that I am lost somewhere far far away in woods.......or I am in a train which is going in full speed somewhere.....or sometimes as if I am falling down from heights and I feel that this is really happening and I really thank God when I open my eyes and realise that it was just a dream.......some dreams are really scary and strange.......Have a nice day.

I dont think I have had a dream that vivid for awhile. I do dream often but they are usually so crazy and disjointed that when I wake up I know that I have been dreaming.
When i was a little kid though once I dreamed about having a treasure chest full of candy and toys, and when I woke up I looked under my pillow to see if it was there.

I have, in fact, then realised that something in the dream couldn't be true so it had to be a dream.
Dreams that can be real hardly ever pan out in terms of reality.
Sooner or later they revert to the improbable dreams they are.

I have dreamt like that many times. When I was a kid, I dreamed of riding a bicycle, I really enjoyed it. The suddenly I woke up and found out it was only a dream because honestly, I haven't learned how to ride a bicycle that time. That dream is the one who gave me motivation to learn how to drive it because I really felt how good it was.
