Is pen drives the major source of virus spreading these days? Have you felt it?

With the arrival of pen drives & the concept of plug and play drives/pen drives, the vulnerability to viruses have increased (this is my personal opinion). I say so because previously when CDs were used, the chances of spreading of viruses were less. Now with pen drives everyone is tempted to do more file transfers between systems. Also the drive concept of pen drives make the copying & transfer of virus to the next system more easier.
I have had several instances where i had to feel the pinch of the viruses damaging the data and i had to format to system to erase them. Only in the recent time i do feel that anti-viruses have also given way for non-detection of newer viruses by categorizing them as spywares or trojans. This allows the viruses to spread and spoil our data.

i wont say pend rives are like the only major source but yes quite a lot of viruses are spreading easily because of it. even internet has become a source of viruses. even i think people are not much bothered these days about it.

Removable storages have always been the virus's best habitat. Before it was Floppy then CD's now as the gen'z proceeding its the Pendrive then It might be Memory Cards. and what more the Internet is a ready live source of virus.
Yes i have suffered a USB virus which entered my pc and wont let my yahoo messenger work but i patched the problem. M happy the virus has no harm anymore after i edited my registry!.

I agree that the pen drives are easier to transfer viruses to the computer than the CD. The storage of pen drives is getting bigger and bigger these days, and it increases the chance to getting virus on bigger drives.

Any media brought in to be access by our system should be suspected of having a virus. The diskettes had their time, rewritable CD/DVD where still using it and now USB and internet are the most common source. What we normally use to transfer data are always the source of this virus particularly from public computers.

well yes.....i do feel that pen drives are the major source of spreading viruses today.some of them like transecnd are very vulnerable to viruses and once affected, can never be erased.i encountered this problem when my friend gave me his pen drive.it asked me whether to clean the virus it had....my reply was a no yet it created a folder and when ever you use a new pen drive it automatically affects that pen drive.i had to format my total hard disk to get rid of the trojan.so i strongly feel that pen drives are a major source of spreading virus today

Now a days pendrives are definitely become major virus spreading devices. Once cann't know whether it consists of virus or not. If we by mistake open it,the virus will spread to the system in seconds, which we dont know.
