Could you tell me, how would you define a "quality discussion"?
And please, DO NOT go to check what myLot guidelines are saying about, at least TRY not to do it! I'd like to know your own, personal opinion, what makes a quality discussion. Is it the category where the discussion was started? Is it the length of responses? Is it the number of responses? Is it something else? Let me know!

Quality discussion to me means informative or something that relates what the original topic is. The content of it is something enough for the reader to relate to the discussion. On the length, although, sometimes people do make statements just to make four lines but the content doesnt make sense at all, I think its not 'quality" at all. That's what I have in a nutshell.
Happy mylotting !

A quality discussion as far as I am concerned is a discussion that encourages people to think and put forward opinions that actually need to have some substance! A discussion that also allows for different angles to be taken concerning its content and context is also a good thing because it means that there can be a lot of back and forth dialogue between the topic poster and the respondents. Asking someone to name their favourite colour is NOT a quality discussion!

Quality discussion is a discussion that involves a real and positive set of answers.
Responses to these will therefore also be real and positive and make a contribution to the intellect of viewers.

Contribution to the intellect of viewers - great! But what about positive responses... I don't know. I hope I did understand what you mean by that. Correct me, if I didn't.
I usually do not respond to the discussions when I totally disagree with the person who started the discussion, but at the same time I understand, the subject is very important to him. Perhaps he's speaking nonsense in my opinion but I don't want to hurt his feelings. FE discussions about religion - I better avoid them, because I learned that religion may be very important for some people. What do I gain from hurting somebody?
But when I realize, somebody is just kidding, I'm not afraid at all to tell him what I'm thinking about, and in that case the response may become very negative!

hi, i guess quality discussion is when the query has been answered informatively and straightforward which provide for a healthy discussions among members and with a lot less "flowery" details thrown in just to make a reply long.

Good question. In my opinion quality discussions are those which are not just one lined.
Another way to define quality discussion are those which are not only made to make money. You know like only starting discussions & later not reading or responding to them.

The art of highlighting which you don't agree in a positive attitude without hurting someone's ego is the basis of 'quality discussion'. As other members have already mentioned it must be informative. I only add that it should be relevent too. Even a silly topic can generate 'quality discussion'. It all depends on the views of the participants.
But to be perfect, refer to Einstein's famous theory of relativity. SO what is a quality discussion to you may n't be same to me.
So the rule I follow, I take care not to hurt anyone, be precise and informative. Of course, I know I'm only trying to follow my own rules. i have yet to master this art.

A quality response may be a detailed account that uses descriptive language. It will always answer the question that was asked. It might be long with intelligent points mentioned or it might be short and very much to the point. It may be a quality response and there might not be any other responses. It could be in any category of discussion and in it the My Lot user would show their knowledge or experience in that subject. Most of all I think My Lot likes good detail and interest.

for me, "quality discussion" means your posting or your topics should be more informative and with sense.,meaning all the information you post or you create is true and useful to everyone who will read it.,it also should be at least 4 liners., most probably because you cannot just simply tell something to everyone here or posting topics without giving us enough reason to just believe.,Ü

Hello to you kiiizu!
Quality discussion for me is that which evokes critical thinking. Something that is not really common but definitely interesting. A quality discussion is that which can generate many responses that are also of good quality. It is also important to consider the category (interest) which the discussions was classified. Of course, it is important that the actual discussion is really related to the interest under which it was categorized.

quality discussion is i think original discussion which creates enthusiasm on people when they read something not created before i think that its not about length of responses or number of responses of course quality discussion concept may vary person to person however i think that if when i see a discussion and i m interested to write about it is a quality discussion for me i m not interested to write then maybe i dont know anything about that discussion or its not quality discussion that much simple for me :)

I think it could be anything that sparks some sort of emotion from people. Something that really gets you thinking. Category doesn't really matter because there's countless topics that people are passionate about.
