Hi everyone. We are starting youth group at our church and I was wondering if you have any suggestions about what cirriculum is good to use. And also the ages that attend your group if you are involved. Thanks :)

I never was in a youth group, so I can only tell what went on in our church. You can try going over a certain book in the Bible, like Timothy for instance. You can also study the history of your church. That is always a good idea because there might be some who never attended church and has no idea where it comes from. Most of the teenagers are usually fourteen to eighteen in our groups, because most of them make professions of faith when they are eighteen or older.

Our youth groups don't really go by a curriculum unless you mean it's a sunday school group. Our youth group alternate fun activities with doing good around the community activities. The older the age group is the more community involved they get. We have them grouped by school age. Elementary school, middle school, and high shool age groups. The latter even organizes a whole worship service once a year. They may rake leaves, mow lawns, visit nursery homes, help fix up a home, help somebody move, things like that as a community service activity. But they may also go on a hike or canoe trip to see what beauty God provided for us in nature, watch a movie, or something else that can be combined with an even very remote religious connection, lol. The key to keeping them interested is to provide fun activities and combine them with the more chore ones.

Is this for Homeschooling? Konos, is great. (I have even took my Konos books to church and used the themes, just left out some of the schooling part.) Examples: Volume 1 teaches Orderliness, Honor, Trust, Stewardship and patience. Volume 2 teaches Generosity, courage, Wisdom and Loyalty. Volume 3 Honesty, self control, Joy. The books you can get out of the Curriculum in a box teaches different things like, Kings and Queens, which I taught the girls about Queen Easter. Is it just church? What ages? Is it girls and boys? If all girls6-12, you could use Blue Belles. If all boys 6-12, you could use Pioneer's for Christ. If boys and girls 6& under, you could use Sun Shines. For ages 1-11, we have use Veggie Tales. (Boys and girls) Then there is Keeper of the Faith & Contenders of the Faith. You can check out the web site. www.keepersofthefaith.com and check out the Character Building Curriculum. My church uses Blue Belles & pioneers for Christ as boys and girls club. I know a few friends use the Keepers & Contenders for boys and girls clubs. Good luck!
