Do name brands and Labels matter to you!?

I know alot of people that wont wear anything thats name brang. I personally dont care. Ive seen alot of shirts that are nicer for cheaper. The way I see it is. I can buy 2-3 pairs of pants at a good store like Garage, or I could buy one pair the same amount of money at an expensive store. Both equally look good on me. So whats the point? Do you, or your children for that matter.. Live for labels? Please answer:)

I can't afford to worry about brands names or labels. For clothing, as long as it fits, and is comfy and up to date, fashion wise, then it's good for us! The only thing i go for labels would be bras, but for one good reason; i've already bought cheap bras, and they are just that..cheap...one month or so later, i had to buy another one! Instead, if i buy the label one, it lasts a long time.

when i was in high school i used to be brand conscious. But when i was in high school i had this classmate who has a good taste in fashion. i asked her how much is her dress, accessories, etc etc. i was shocked when she said it was half the prize of my dresses. she bring me to the wholesaler store. where we can save half of the original prize of those branded dresses that we see in the malls. since there, i always go there and buy new shirt, pants, or even accessories coz i can save money and it has also good quality

Ive had that happen. I dont know if you are familiar with the store, but Giant Tiger in my area is a discount store that gets nice clothes from other stores that couldnt sell them and sells them for less. You can get really nice dress clothes or clubbing clothes, or even just casual clothes for very little money. On many occasions people have asked me they loved what I was wearing and asked where I got it. I love the look on there face when I tell them..and "oh by the way, I only spent 5 bucks on it" Theres really no reason to spend that much money just for a label, if you really look closely to half of this "expensive" stuff, its either not the best quality, or plain.. or sometimes even ugly. Theres no point to it.

It matters to me whan it comes to purchasing major thingis such as appliances, gadgets, etc. But on clothes, shoes, and other personal things, I don't mind using an unknown brand. As long as there's a label and the label displays all the necessary information, I'll buy it.

I think labels are just another way to judge people. I mean seriously, I know a lot of people who would rather date someone dressed in armani and holding a lois vuitton suitcase, than a guy who wears jeans and an old shirt. After all, money matters right? The world today is becoming SO superficial. Wear whatever expresses yourself, maybe you'll find someone that likes you for you. Not for how fat your wallet is. :]

Yea i do buy branded things for official use.. like i have few 5 to 10 dresses for commercial use which usually gives a good look but rest of the dress i will buy in normal rates.., here in my place i dont get anything for cheaper rates!!! For me branded things look good when i wear on, especially stretch jeans here in my place Nirvana has good name i like to wear only that brand.. even though people recommend me to wear some other brand.. i look really cool my thick thighs even look slender in it.. Im not yet married so no worries for children i got a shirt for my guy i thought buying him branded ones but after going there i found the normal shirts where very costly and the branded shirts were even more expensive.. i got him one shirt where i though it is not that good branded one.. when i told my guy he said that company is good.. so just to present or to wear only branded ones!!!

no not at all. As long as its of good quality, the brand name doesn't really matter. And with the economy today,...I don't think being brand conscious is such a good idea.

Most deffinately not. With the prices of pretty much almost everything rising, ESPECIALLY gas..we cant afford to throw away money on brands. You can spend 100 bucks on a pair of jeans at a name brand store, or you can go to just another store..spend 30-40 on a pair of jeans and spend the rest on filling up the gas tank

For me it's the price. Now if you don't mind second hand things. The Thrift store you will find all the name brand stuff you want. And the price is really cheap. But if you go to the store for something name brand, if it's not on sale. It's high, then you can sometimes find things right in the store that is cheaper than the name brand. My I can do without the name really. Most of the things that I have with a name on them, came from the second hand store. Shoes too, second hand. If I can't afford it I'm not going to buy it, bottom line.

Used to, but no longer place so much emphasis on brands. Now I go for comfort; and you are right - both look equally good, so why should we pay higher, just because of a brand!

I don't necessarily shop for labels, but more the store. For instance I won't shop at WalMart or a store like that for clothing, but rather I go to the Limited or Macys, etc. The clothes do cost a little more. I do think that paying a little more for clothes makes a difference. They hang better, and last longer. Cheaper clothing seems to fall apart a lot faster. I also raised my daughter the same - she shops like me. Instead of a "label snob" we are "store name snobs", lol.

Im like you, I dont shop at Walmart, just other stores such as garage, bluenotes, whatnot (small city, limited stores:P) So what you buy isnt counted as costly with regards to my post. Im talking about how you can go to a store and the jeans cost 100 and theres not much different to them than any other pair of jeanns youd buy i another store except the small patch on the butt that says the name brand. Thanks for your post!

I Personally dont think lables matter, I am a bargain shopper. Although I do like getting name brand clothes once in a while, but alot of them arent worth the money, you pay so much for it and it falls apart! I hate that.

Lables mean Money. I have found that some of the labled clothes don't last as long as the les expensive clothes. I know that the Kids want to keep up with wach other but the less expensive clothes look just as nice and last just as long if not longer.

I go for comfort and the design. I must admit that the more cheaper ones are the most appealing and more comfortable ones. But Someone told me that the more expensive ones lasts longer than the cheaper stuff.

I'm so sorry for coming in so late. Yes, the brand names do matter for me but only upto some extent and I'm always open to try new names also, if the products looks good.

NO! They don't matter because like I tell my friends most stuff all come from one place and they just put them in different bottles and we the consumers don't really be aware of what goes on. I have seen videos of factories in places like China where for instance they make jeans. The workrs just have a pile of tags with different names in front fo them and will take a jean, put on a tag and cast it in one pile; then pick up another pair of jeans of the same style, put on another tag and cast it in another pile. So me, I buy budget items and the cheapest at times and get more for my money than buy name brand

I agree with you my friend. I would much rather buy 2 or 3 of something for the same price as one of a designer one. For example, I went shopping to the mall the other day and at a store called Fairweathers, they had a sale on their generic brand jeans. The regular price on them is $39.95, I know because they are the brand I usually buy and have paid the full price before, on sale for $10 a pair. So even though I didn't need any new jeans I bought 4 pairs of them. I know that I will be wearing them so it wasn't a waste of money. It's just I couldn't not buy any since I could get 4 pairs at the price I have paid for one pair before. Now they may not be as nice of a fit as the designer ones that cost $200 but they are still good quality and they are in style. They are the low waist ones with the flair on the bottom of the hem. The ones that everyone is wearing. I do know some people that will only wear the designer ones but I don't care if they want to spend all that money, it is their business. Even if I was a millionaire I think I would still buy the cheap ones because to me there is no difference between them. Alrighty then, talk to you later my friend, Your friend, Chris

I have never been one to care about labels or name brands. I do, however, care about quality. I've been on both ends of the spectrum before. I've spent the least amount of money on something and gotten exactly what I've paid for. I've also spent a nice sum of money and gotten a decent product for it. But I don't look at the label or brand name. The only thing I pay attention to anymore is how well something is made and then how much money they want for that item based on the quality. My children are pretty much the same way. They would prefer brand names and whatnot because they get a lot of pressure from their peers, but they will accept whatever they get and appreciate it.

well, i don't go for the expensive ones. but i won't say that i will always go for the cheapest items. sometimes, the cheapest ones aren't really of good quality and won't last long. will end up to be a waste of money after all.
