Why the hell did I do this strange donation ????

The other day I went to the town where my college is situated . It is some 16 km away from my place . At the bus stand there , I met a dark man who stopped me on my way and asked me if i knew English , i said yes . From that very moment i knew he was a fraud , but strangely enough I waited an listened to him ( I never would have done it otherwise) , he told me his mom is not well and many things and that he needs some 17 bucks to reach the hospital ... I immediately reached for my pocket and gave him 20 bucks .. I knew he was a cheat but I still did it .. the people there ridiculed me for doing so , but I couldnt understand why I did it .
Why do you think it happened ?... did i do something very wrong ? .. pls tell me

You didn't do anything wrong and you may or may not have been taken advantage of. The man seems to have had a very charasmatic personality and a convincing face for you to react as you did so, since there is no way to know for sure, believe that he was an honest man and that you helped someone.

Hey Friend!!
You thought that he might be a fraud and still gave him money...
That means... you were really convinced by his expressions... So you did what you felt was right...
Maybe he was really in need of that money... and so you helped him...
Think positively..
. and be happy... what are you going to get if you think he was a fraud.. nothing...
