Star ratings.......

OK, I've been noticing the star ratings, but I'm wondering, how do you get them? What purpose do they serve? How long does it take you to get them?
Sorry, I just have to ask, it's been bugging me.

Hi victoria,
I think it is to do with your ratings, once I had 9 stars and the very next day it fell to 7 then two days later it went up to 8 and I was so upset but every in Mylot told me to worry and keep posting and now I don't warry it does not matter what number star it is as long as you'r enjoying yourself.
