I had two black cats, and one just passed away. Now the cat that is left never really socialized to much with people, but now after the other had passed away he just can't seem to get enough attention. So I guess this cat must really miss his buddy. After all they had been together for almost 15 years.

Maybe the cat misses his buddy, or maybe he is making the most of his absense to get all the attention! My own cat used to live with her brother, but i don't think she was happy becuase he used to bully her and get all the food and attention. When her owners split up one cat went with one owner and the other owner gave their cat to us. She is much happier alone, she gets spoilt rotten and gets all the food and all the fuss & love.

I really never gave either one of them to much attention before. I really never was much of cat person. But these cats are and were so friendly you can't but help falling in love with them.

Aww, poor kitty. Yea, he's probably seeking comfort in extra attention. If they've been together that many years you can bet they had a close bond.

The thing is I never realized what close bond they actually had. They really weren't that close. Or maybe it just seemed that way at the time. One would stay in one room and the other in another room. Very seldom you would see them together.

This sounds so familiar. I had two cats, mother and son, until almost two years ago. The mother was almost 18 when she just passes away leaving her son and me. They never got on either. The balck sonwas definately 'the boss'. Wherever she decide to sleep would have to HIS place and she would have tomove. Once he was on his own he changed too, He become much more affectionate and it was as though we were both missing her. She was really tiny and would sit on my desk while I was at my computer, something he would never do until after her pplace became vacant. Then six months ago, after going gradually downhill due to a crooked wind-pipe causing breathing problems which then brought on stress, he was suffering too much. I couldn't bare to see himlike that. I miss them both. Almost 18 years together is a very long time. I made a mistake which may be worth thinking about in your case. I should have acquired another cat before being without one at all. It would have taken the edge off the emptiness there is now. Now is too late. I just can't bring myself to have another as it would never be like either of them. I'm sure they miss each other just as we miss them especially after being together for so long.

Have you thought about getting another cat to keep him company? He may enjoy another cat now. I suggest a female about 8 months or so old. Much younger would have too much energy for him to deal with. Give it some thought.

Hello.I have two cats right now. Both are spayed females.I have been around cat's all my long life.I love cat's because they are more independant than dog's.You don't need to walk them, but you can.I don't respect people that don't look after their pets, especially cats, and they let the unspayed female cat have litter after litter. It is dangerous to the mother cats health.I know that it is more expensive to have a female cat spayed than it is to have a male nuetered not to mention the invasiveness of the operation, but if we love our pet we usually can find a way to do this.Cats are harder to place in homes with famillies than dogs are.

Awww, that's sad that he lost his best friend. But at least he has people who love him and he can socialize with. And I'm sorry for you too that you lost one of your cats.

Oh yeah he gets plenty attention. Sometimes its like he never gets enough. Its like hes saying: I'll just lay here and you can pet me all day long.

Hi know21, I feel so sorry for your cat, he is missing his buddy and now has to adjust. At least he has people who love him and give him all the attention he needs. Cats are very much like us, they get lonely, they get sad but more than anything they need to know that they are loved. I have two cats now, but last April I lost a cat that had been with us for thirteen years, and for three of these years was my only companion. It was very difficult, having to lose him. Blessings.

aw thats sad. He misses his friend. I can see that happening though. animals have feelings too. Sadly my 2 cats that lived out side the female dissapred on day and then the next day the male seemed sick so my grandma took him to the vet to find out he had leukemia so they put him down. We never found his sister we think that either she did too of leukemia or scence she was so friendly someone stole her.

Yes, he is missing his friend dearly, poor thing. He must feel terrible and lonely because after all, 13 years is a long time to be with someone or something ( I don't know what to say in this case). I have two cats and they are brothers; Louie and Johnny, and they are very close and would hate for one to lose the other. They are kittens and prayerfully they will be together for a long time. Take care and God Bless!

That is so sad, I bet he sure does miss his side kick! Why not get him a new friend to play with? We have to big cats and now six kittens. My cats get to lonesome without eachother. They pout if one has to go to the vet over night. They are like little kids.

Aww im sorry for the lost of your cat. I have 3 cats one is 10 the other is 5 and the last one is 3. They get along for the most part but the oldest one seems not to like the other cats because he love attention.
