Taking a stand

i have a real dilemma,someone who i know is being horrid and he needs to be stopped,he is being quite passive aggressive and snide with everyone.I want to take a stand or get revenge but the trouble is i could get into a lot of trouble with a lo more people as he for some reason has adoring fans,this person lives with me so its hard to think of what to do.How can i take a stand or get revenge without letting him know it was me?

Ah but revenge is always sweeter when the target knows where his problems came from.
Still, if he was liable to be violent then I guess the next best thing would be the tax office or some other local agency where you could dish the dirt on him for some infraction or other data you have on him.
