I took the kids to grandma and grandpa's this weekend. We had a nice visit. I only go a few times a year because it is way up north. It sure is good to be home. When is the last time you visited your parent?

I called in to see my mum this morning as she only lives about 5 minutes walk away. Depending on my work pattern I usually see her about 3 times a week and call her most of the days that I dont see her. Before she and my dad moved up, they would visit us 4 or 5 times a year as it was easier for them to travel since they retired. One of my sons visited us about 3 weeks ago and I went to visit the other one this weekend.

My father lives with us as I am his caregiver. Mom passed away many many years ago. Now our daughter visits us nearly every weekend though. She lives about 45 miles away and comes over a lot. Our son seldom visits. When he does it is usually for a meal or he needs something. Seldom does he break from his friends and or drinking to visit. But that's the way he is and it is fine by us most times. (Mom, I love ya bunches and miss ya even more. I am taking good care of dad for you as well.) HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

IThat is so sweet of you to take care of your dad. I know so many people who won't take the time. I sure wish I lived closer to my parents maybe someday when the kids are grown up. Well it is no fun dealing with a drunk. so I see why you are ok with him not coming so often. It is to bad he has to waste his life like that. The bottle is hard to quit. My brothers drink like fish and here in wisconsin there is a bar on ever corner. Even some in the middle of no where. They do not go home at all. my parent don't like it.

I am 23, un-married, and my parents live 15 minutes south of me, so i visit them pretty regularly. It really helps me out a lot because my mom finds GREAT deals on toiletries and food items, so she gives me a lot of it for free!! Plus I HATE going grocery shopping anyways. I love living close enough to my parents that I don't have to see them all the time, but i can still visit and take refuge whenever I need.
