So yea when I was a teenager I use to get my palm read and my cards read, but I haven't in a really long time. Well this lady was nice enough to read my mom's cards for free, not once but 3 times last week. She basically told my mom the more times she reads them the better. Well the death card appeared and she told my mom that someone close would be dying in either 2 days, 2 weeks, or 2 months? I am having kind of a hard time believing all this. What are your feelings on card reading/ palm readings or anything that pertains to them?

well, i have tried tarrot card reading but only once. and i was in 3rd year college then. there were a lot of people lining up and waiting for their turn, i joined them because my friends wanted to and she drag me along. the tarrot reading that the man was doing is somehow not true. he keeps on asking questions instead of giving me information. that's why i don't believe that it's true. or maybe the tarrot reader is just not so good with his craft. i just tried tarrot reading just for me to know how it feels like having experienced tarrot reading, but i didnt really believe in everything that he said to be true!

Well you’re definitely right. They tell us things that are general. That can be true not only specific to my family, but can be possibly true to other people as well. Like, one of my family member is having a problem, well that’s true, but everybody has problems! Well I have nothing against them, but I just don’t believe in what they say. And I don’t make their words a guide to make my life better. Because I believe life is always happy and wonderful if that how you see it. It’s always about perception and disposition!

Alot of the things this woman told my mom seemed to be true, but seriously when I think about the things she told my mom could be true about anyone. Like when you think about it, if someone says someone in your family has health problems won't that always stem to be true. My mom doesn't seem to upset about the reading so I guess I shouldn't be upset about her reading either.

After reading these posts, tarot cards or nothing else actually predicts the future. Even with god nothing is written in stone, we have certain life lessons to learn but we also have free will no matter what our belief system is. Just having knowledge of a future event changes the outcome of that event. Tarot cards can be used to see only a possible future event and it's outcome. Most people into the tarot use it or any cards as a guide not as a bible. Nothing tomorrow is written in stone it's all changeable by altering what we think or say or do.

Hi phillygirl
I've never had my cards read, but really want to. I just want to find someone I can trust. I have had a medium give me a reading and he knew a lot. I mean the things he said no one could have told him. He was a friend of my neice and sister so I trusted him. But I also believe their are frauds out there. I know the readings your mom got must be a little unsettling but I think you are right not to trust this. Keep us posted, ok? I will be thinking of you.

I am now thinking about taking my mom to the woman who use to do mine. alot of things she had told me had actually came true. It's been so long since I been to her though I am really hoping that she is still there. This lady who read my mom's cards read them 3 times in one week which I am not sure but I thought was a little much. 3 times in the same week I would think would stack the odds against her to hear something so negative. The first 2 readings were very similar which made them seem more realistic and everything was not all good in them so I am not just trying to take the better reading. The 3rd and final reading was just so far off from the first 2. And my mom said this time the woman who did the reading that her whole demeanor was different towards my mom.

After reading what this reader was doing it sounds like she was setting your mom up to lift a curse, at astronimical rates. They win thier victims over by doing free readings, each reading gets more dire then they tell them they can save them from thier fate by lifting a curse or selling them a good luck charm or any number of cures for the bad luck about to befall them.

I don't believe in anything having to do with the occult. That includes palm reading, tarot card or ouiji boards, psychic readings, astral travel, or any of that stuff.
I love God. I belong to Jesus, Who has promised me that He will take me back one day to be with Him. And I will continue to take a stand for Him.

I don't believe in tarot card readings. I think people like this try to make a quick buck on other people. I believe that the future is in God's hands. Although I am curious about my future, I don't try to know what it might hold for me by going to have my hands read or to tarot card readers. I have faith that God will protect me. Be close to God. No one can harm you.

Oh yes I sure do. I believe in the devil as much as anybody. I believe the devil can remind people of their past but he certainly can not tell them their future. Only God knows the future! He is a tricky little devil that one because he makes it sound so could that you would think he is actually telling you your future but in reality he is just making predictions! I totally believe when we open ourselves up to spirits who are trying to lead us there only focus is to steer us completely away from God. Does anyone else think this way? The bible does tell us to be aware and stay away from these types of spirits.
I just wrote that first paragraph without reading your post, only reading the title as I wanted my first impression to be written down. NOw I have read your post. All I have to say is it could also be 2 years. The spirit this woman is allowing to use her is not from God and cannot know the future. Lets face it anyone of us will probably have someone die that is fairly close to them in the next while and if not I wonder what was said in the conversation that influenced this women to say such a thing. Really what good is it for anyone to know that someone is going to die. Except for you to feel depressed. Just like the devil to try and keep people oppressed. Really if you and your mom want to be uplifted ask the Holy Spirit whom God left as the Comforter in this world to make Jesus real to you!

I don't personally believe in any of it. BUT I think if someone tells you something positive will happen you might be more open to that possibility and that might increase your chances of something happening. Like if you were told you were going to meet someone special within some time frame. And you see that as a positive you would be more open to that possibility, there by your chances of that happening would be higher.
But telling someone such a negative thing as that person did.. I just think it's a really bad idea and kind of sick since they don't know anything about the future in my opinion.

absolutely not.I dont believe in tarot card readings. They are done by evil doers for the sole purpose of manipulation and greed. They tell you all he thing's you wanna hear. It's all deception my friend. The bible speaks about witchcraft and sorcery. This is exactly what it is.So,if you would like to know anything about yourself and your life jut read the bibleand ask God he will tell you the whole truth!

I am seeing that quite a few people consider tarot to be evil. The reader told my mom that someone is gone to die, believe it was not something she was seeking to hear. She wasn't really freaked out about it though, I was the one who got all freaked out when I heard this. Thanks for the imput, happy mylotting.

Till recently I didn't belive it tarot card readings. But just a few days ago my girlfriend went with a bunch of her friends. The guy, she said basically started off the 'session' by asking her her name, age and sign. Then he asked her mom's name, age and sign and then my name, age and sign. I guess he told her a bunch of stuff about the past (all very specific and right on the money) and then went onto talk about her future. She came out in shock because of the level of detail the reader went into...so I guess there is some truth in it after all.

I have the experienced too of getting my palms read and my card read and things like that. Sometime it comes out true enough and sometimes it didnt turn out as what you have been told by the tarot card reader. A year ago a Tarot card reader told me that my tender for a business project is successfull. She told me to wait for the letter of approval with patient. I am very happy, delightful and my face keep smiling everyday. You just imagine that someone had told you with confident 100% that you will be getting a big project soon. A year has passed and till now I didnt get any news or any project from that organisation. I was so frustrated as I have give my full hope with the project. Now my faith is, let God decide what you will get!!!

for me, i don't think there is anything wrong in believing tarot card readings as long as you don't let whatever readings was read to you rule your life. since the readings the done by humans and no human is perfect so chanced are the readings could also get "lost in translation" ^_^

i don't really believe in fortune telling and the likes. i never really wanted to know what lies ahead of me. and i'm more concerned about my present and (at some point) my past rather than my future.
but you know, i really, really wanted to learn tarot reading.^_^ i wanted to find out how each cards are read and whether each readers will have different interpretations on the same card and also, if they're telling the same thing to people who got the same card. ahahahah... i was thinking if they're doing the latter, then they're just reading the cards only and not the person and his life.
i was thinking it will make a good hobby. when you wanted to kill boredom, read tarot cards aside from doing magic using playing cards.^_^
