If you're not using it too much then you can have a lot of savings, plus you could bring it anywhere, but that is only 384kps max and you will never reach that speed. If you are a heavy user, your planning it for downloading purposes then try other provider available in your locality, they are much faster and the price difference is not that much.

The prepaid kits costs P4,500.00 and is preloaded with free 1.5 hours. You have to load it with at least P30.00 upon exhaustion of the 1.5 hrs free. 30-minute surfing is equivalent to P10.00. Speed is 384 kbps burstable. It is good if you are always mobile because you'll be able to access the internet anywhere as long as there is a signal. It's technology is more like the technology of the cellphone that's why if your smart cp's signal is strong it's more likely your smartbro signal is much the same. But if you are only staying at home and will be using the internet more often (because I tell you, when you're only at home, it's likely you'll be hooked!), then I suggest you subscribe to plans with monthly fees of not more than 1k with unlimited surfing. You may check with pldt, digitel, globe, smartbro, bayantel about this plan and it's enough for you to compare and choose.

the rate of smartbro prepaid (usb) is same as access by gprs/edge modem (via mobile phone).. i used mobile phone smart internet connection when i was in philippines but got fed up of constant connection loss.. here i use the same service with my mobile but does not have disconnection issues..
i'm not sure if the smartbro prepaid will be better.. if it uses the same system as their fixed antenna smartbro, maybe it will..
again, you have to compute how much time you intend to be online.. maybe it will be cheaper to have unlimited connection..
