Respect.... Is it equal, deserved ???

I am talking about respect that we have to give to people of different culture, lifestyle or living conditions. Do everyone receives respect that they deserve? Are there some people who needs to be respected always?? Why people say that some people do not deserve respect?? I recently saw a photo of a prisoner who is cruelly treated by the jailer, a recently happened event. This photo led me to this topic. He is a prisoner because he did some crime. But does it really means that he don't deserve respect?? Whats ur opinion about this??

Well I think respect should be given to everyone but then the respect grows with you in time. It is not on equal footing perhaps if you want to gain more you should show or present yourself to be respectable person in the eyes of many. Just stating my opinion on it.

but there are people who says that those who are doing extreme cruelty for example to children and women must be punished and they deserve no respect.
