Lets say that this test is worth 70% of your science grade. The guy that sits next to you is a complete nerd. Would you cheat and risk getting caught? (Suspension) Or Would you just fail and come up with a clever excuse. btw Its close to the end of the year.
I would personally not cheat because getting suspended would result in me being in a hospital for about 2 weeks. lol

I would not cheat as it would not be worth it. And obviously if I felt the need to cheat it would be because I didn't study well enough or do my homework and that's my own fault. If that was the case I should be willing to take the risk of failing, as I would have no excuses.
I caught quite a few people in highschool looking at my papers from time to time when we were taking a test. It always made me so mad because I took the time to study and make sure I was very prepared and they think they can just skate by on someone else's commitment and hard work. Some people have no manners or self discipline!

the situation does not warrant cheating. you could have made the situation more complicated so that cheating becomes the most likely choice. for example, a student is on the verge of not graduating if he fails this particular exam. the student's family is excited of the prospect of graduation. they even have planned a family outing after the graduation. but when the student gets a hand on the exam, he is dumbfounded. the exam is extremely difficult. but the student's seatmate who happens to be the top student is having a smooth time answering the questions. then, the situation becomes complicated. for me, i will not cheat. there is no reward for cheating.

I wouldn't cheat because if I got suspended from college and I couldn't go back I would be very upset, and that would affect my whole future. What do you mean you would be in the hospital for two weeks?

No! I wouldn't even think twice. I would never cheat in any test, it would be better if I just fail, if knowing that I had my high score through cheating. I've never really cheated in my whole life (as far as I'm concerned) and I think it's very unfair to the person you copied your answers from because he's the one who studied and then, you just get his grades without even breaking a sweat. And besides, I have really high grades even though I don't study...

I wouldn't cheat. Odds are I would be the nerd guy being cheated off of haha. Actually, I really was that guy. It was OK back in the day. It let me get in good with some cute girls.

First of all i am a student too, i had a few similar situation and not cheating is a right decision in opinion.First of all even if you will not be caught it still remain the most important thing (in my opinion) the knowledge. That's because you might encounter the same problem elsewhere and if you won't be able to cheat what would you do?

Well, if a test was really worth 70% of my grade, I don't think I'd need to cheat. I'd definitely make sure to do some studying before that test, as I obviously can't afford to either fail or cheat on it. Too risky.
If it were a smaller test, I wouldn't mind failing, as that's still less riskier than cheating. Cheating just brings a whole horde of problems if I get caught, as it ends up on my record. The likelihood of me making it into any college will be slim if I cheat.
Finally, advice for cheaters: don't ever admit you've cheated. Not on the internet, not anywhere. Bragging is not good for your health.
